The posters were made to advertise Fun Day, which will be held on the school grounds on June 3rd, rain or shine, from 9:00 to 2:00. Fun Day is sponsored by Parents and Teachers in Partnership [PTP], which supports the kids’ creative and scholarly endeavors. Shown in the photo are the winners from each grade with their posters. Beahm students get American Legion awards Fe i Ba SE FS Four Beahm Junior High students were awarded pins by the American Legion and Auxiliary. The awards were for the kids’ qualities of honor, scholarship, service, Americanism, leadership, and courage. Three of the recipients are shown above: on the left is Karen Mummau, 717 Bruce Avenue, Mount Joy [honored by the Mount Joy Legion]; next to her is Michael Frey, 120 New Haven Street, Mount Joy [also honored by the Mount Joy post]; and on the right is Lonnie Earhart, RD2 Mount Joy, who was honored by the Maytown Legion post. In the photo at right is the fourth honored student, Ron Kennedy, who was absent when the photo above was taken. He lives at Box 468, RD1 Mount Joy, and was honored by the Maytown post. The awards ceremony took place at Beahm on May 12th. The announcer was Jeff Duke. Donna Hay played a flute solo, and Georgiann Westerman explained the the Legion awards along with Duane Musser. Rev. Edgar Steedle, of the Maytown UCC, spoke to the group. After a group singing of ‘‘America,”’ directed by Mrs. Ansell, principal Bollenbacher dismissed the assembly. The awards were actually presented to the four students by Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, Mrs. Ruth Rineer, and Mr.. Raymond Miller, Jr. : oh
