Bike-A-Thon
A Bike-A-Thon for cystic
fibrosis will be held in
Marietta on Saturday, May
13th. This benefit will raise
money to fight the No. 1
killer of children among
inherited diseases.
““This is a fun way of
raising money for a worthy
cause,’”’ said Rev. ‘Thomas
Wood of the English
Presbyterian Church, who
is sponsoring the event.
Volunteers for the 3.8
mile course can be any
age—in fact, kids on tri-
cycles are welcome to
enter. Prizes will go to
the eight most-sponsored
riders. For information and
forms, call Rev. Wood.
The Bike-A-Thon will
form up at Riverview
School at 9:00 AM, wend
its way to the Post Office
and back again.
Cystic fibrosis victims’
life expectancy has been
increased by advances in
medicine... but a cure is
still not available. The
money raised by the Bike
-A-Thon will go for
research toward that cure.

sent some puzzles to the

answers to these puzzles,’’
he roared, ‘“‘and I will send

Correction
In last week’s article
about Mrs. Flanagan’s
baby shower, it was
wrongly stated that the
shower was given in part
by the Mount Joy Welcome
Wagon. This should have
been parents of the
students.
The 2nd puzzle is this:
take matches and arrange
them as shown in the dia-
gram below. Moving ex-
actly two matches—no
more, no less—change the
five boxes into four boxes
of the same size and shape
as the original ones. All
matches must touch at the
corners only.
Good Luck!
