Woman of the Year, in person
This photo shows Deb Newcomer of the Mount Joy Joycee-ettes presentng, in person
this time, the ‘“Woman of the Year’ award to Sadie Brooks. Sadie’s daughter, Pat
Eichler, accepted it for her at the DSA banquet, which was held while Sadie was in
Florida. Sadie is now on here way to California to visit her son Wayne, a retired Air
Force man. After that she will go to Michigan on March 1st, and on April 15th she plans
to return to Honduras.
Sadie got the Woman of the Year award partly due to her volunteer efforts at the
orphanage in Honduras. Mount Joy, spearheaded by Glossbrenner Church, sent a huge
shipment of gifts and necessities down there last Christmas. They were much
appreciated, and more contributions wouldn’t hurt.
After listening to Sadie tell how a check’s arrival saved the kids from going to bed
hungry one night, the Times photographer broke down and made his first charitable
donation of the year to the orphanage, c/o Sadie. Other contributions are needed, and
can be mailed to the address below:
Sadie Brooks, Pan American Health Service, Box 191, San Pedro Sula, Honduras,
C.A. It’s a bad idea to send anything but a check this way—envelopes are opened
regularly by the Honduran post office, and gifts are subject to high duties, usually over
100%. If you want to send a gift, get in touch with Mrs. Frank Eichler or Mrs. Jay
Eidemiller, who can arrange to have the goods sent.

STATIC
ELECTRICITY
Don’t Endure It...
Eliminate it!
Static electricity . . . the little
scientific imp that shocks you
every time you touch a door-
knob, light switch, or someone
nearby . . . is nature's sign
that your home is suffering
from lack of proper humidity.
Your throat is scratchy, your
nasal passages dry out, and
you're plagued by dry and
flaky skin and scalp.
The desert-dry air in your
home also can shorten the life
of plants, draperies, rugs and
upholstery, and can cause
loosening of joints in furniture
and floors.
HERRmidifier Company, Inc.—
a pioneer in humidification for
nearly 30 years—offers a com-
plete line of residential humid-
ifiers that eliminate these and
other annoying discomforts.
Call us today and let us show
you how easily and inexpen-
sively HERRmidifier can put
natural freshness into your
home.
