Obituaries
CORABLE ALBANO
Mrs. Corable A. Albano
of Gettysburg, aged 61,
died at her sister’s home
in Dundalk, MD, Sunday
a week ago.
Mrs. Albano and her
husband Angelo operated
Albano’s Drugstore in
Marietta before moving to
Gettysburg in the 1960's.
Mr. Albano died in 1974.
For the past five years
Mrs. Albano had been a
nurse at the Michael
Manor nursing home in
Gettysburg. She was a
veteran of the U.S. Army
Nurse Corps, in which
she served as first lieu-
tenant.
IRVIN HOSTETTER
Irvin H. Hostetter, the
retired manager of J.B.
Hostetter & Sons hard-
ware store in Mount Joy,
died Tuesday of last
week at Lancaster Gener-
al Hospital following a
lengthy illness.
He was 72. He resided
at 243 Park Avenue,
Mount Joy.
He worked at the
hardware store for 40
years (he retired in
1976). His father had
founded the business in
the 1920’s.
He was a member of
St. Mark’s U.M. Church,
Friendship Fire Co. #1,
and the Hershey Country
Club, where he played
golf. He was also a
charter member of the
Mount Joy Golf Associa-
tion.
Born in Rapho Town-
ship, he was a son of
the late Joseph B. and
Susan Hollinger Hostetter.
He is survived by: his
wife, Coral Eshleman
Hostetter; a son, Gerald,
of Mount Joy; a son
Joseph B. of Lebanon;
two grandsons; a sister
Mildred, wife of Clarence
Douple, Lititz; and three
brothers, Raymond H. . of
Landisville, Arthur H. of
Mount Joy, and Clarence
H. of Mount Joy.
LILLY EDWARDS
Mrs. Lilly M. Edwards,
84, of Mount Joy RDI,
died Monday a week ago
at the home of her son,
with whom she resided.
She was the widow of
Clarence Edwards, who
died in 1952.
She was born in Eng-
land, a daughter of the
late William and Harriet
Powell Adams. She came
to this country 65 years
ago, and lived in Luzerne
County until four years
ago, when she moved to
Mount Joy.
She was a member of
St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church of Alberts and
the Lutheran Church
Women of St. Paul’s.
She is survived by two
sons: Leonard J. Milford
of Mount Joy, and Henry
Milford of Ashley; a
stepson, Glyn Edwards of
Newark, Del.; a daughter
Emily, wife of John
Schuler, Parlin, NJ; and
a stepdaughter Winifred,
wife of Francis Suer,
Newark, Del. She is also
survived by a brother
Noel Adams, of Albert;
1S grandchildren and 22
great-grandchildrén.
Funeral services will be
held in Mountain Top,
Luzerne County.
THOMAS DEAN McCOY
Cpl. Thomas Dean
McCoy, age 20, of Milton
Grove, died Monday a
week ago as a result of
an auto accident in
Japan, where he was
stationed with the U.S.
Marine Corps.
Born in Lancaster, he
was a son of Thomas
Donald and Anna Mae
Bowman McCoy.
He joined the Marines
in 1976 and was trained
as an electrician.
A 1976 graduate of
Donegal High School, he
was a member of the
Milton Grove U.M.
Church and boy scout
troop 36 of Rheems.
Besides his parents, he
is survived by two bro-
thers and two sisters:
Sgt. Kenneth L., with the
U.S. Army in Germany;
and Randall S., Kathy L.,
and Tracy R., all: at
home. He is also sur-
vived by his paternal
grandmother, Effie Singer
McCoy of Maytown, and
his maternal grandmother,
Maggie Bowman of the
Fairmont Nursing Home,
Ephrata.
ETHEL K. BRUBAKER
Mrs. Ethel K. Brubaker,
64, of Mount Joy RD2,
died last Thursday at
home. She had been ill for
four months.
Born in Mount Joy
Township, she was a
daughter of the late Levi
W. and Leah Hawbaker
Mumma.
She was a member of
the Shenks Brethren in
Christ Church of Eliza-
bethtown.
She is survived by her
husband, the Rev. Arthur
H. Brubaker, and five
sons and three daughters:
the Rev. John Brubaker,
Nappanee, Ind.; Mary E.
wife of S. Paul Sides,
Elkhart, Ind.; Rev. Levi
Brubaker, Choma, Zambia;
H. Kenneth Brubaker,
York; Ruth, wife of Bruce
Hollender, Pleasant Gap;
Joyce, wife of Lloyd
Heisey, Manheim RD 4
James Brubaker, Philadel-
phia; and E. Robert Bru-
baker, Hartford, Conn.
There are 20 grandchild-
ren surviving.
Also surviving are three
sisters and three brothers:
Anna Mae, wife of Menno
Brubaker, Elizabethtown;
Ruth E., wife of Mark
Layman, Newport News,
Va.; Levi Mumma, Quen-
tin; Martha E., wife of
Eugene Wolfe, Spring
Mills; J. Arthur Mumma,
Mount Joy RD2; and Adin
H. Mumma, Mount Joy.
MARGARET BLEACHER
Mrs. Margaret May
Baker Bleacher, 54, of
Lancaster, died last week
at Lancaster General Hos-
pital after an illness of
one year. She was the
wife of Lloyd E. Bleacher,
who survives her.
She was born in Mari-
etta, a daughter of the
late George S. and Daisy
E. Montgomery Baker.
She was a member of ‘the
First Assembly of God
Church in Lancaster. She
was an avid bowler.
Besides her husband
she is survived by a son
Gordon of Connecticut; a
daughter Brenda, wife of
Dana Williams, Lititz; a
daughter Patti, at home;
three granddcoughters; a
sister Kathryn, wife of
Paul Linard of Mountville;
a sister Daisy, wife of
Paris Horner of Marietta;
a sister Mildred, wife of
Grant Peifer, Lancaster;
and four brothers, John,
James, and David Baker,
all of Marietta, and
George Baker of Mount-
ville.
