police will double up
Mount Joy Borough
Council has decided to
deny police chief Bruce
Kline's request for binding
arbitration. They will dis-
cuss his salary and benefits
in November.
Mayor Gingrich has
announced that Oct. 27,
between 6 and 9 PM, will
be designated as Hallo-
ween Night in the boro.
Residents are requested to
leave their porch and other
outdoor lights on, to
promote the safety of the
little goblins on the street.
The police will double up
on Friday and Saturday
nights, at the mayor’s
request, until the end of
this year.
Dog law crackdown in Mount Joy
Mount Joy Borough
Police have issued a
warning concerning dogs
running loose in the
borough. After receiving
many complaints, the
police plan a crackdown on
dog law violations.
According to the state
dog law, the owner or
keeper of a dog must, at all
times, keep the dog either:
1. confined within the
premises of the owner or
keeper
2. firmly secured by
means of a collar, chain or
other device, so it cannot
stray beyond the premises
on which it is secured

Sewers approved ,
expensive paint job
Mount Joy Borough
Authority approved the
water and sewer designs
for Pennsbury Manor de-
velopment, subject to
design approval by the
boro engineers.
The development is lo-
cated in the Donegal
Springs Road area.
The one million gallon
water standpipe at Rapho
Industrial Park is now
ready for lettering.
The standpipe will be
identified by 48 inch-high
letters that will spell out
‘““Mount Joy.’’ The let-
tering will cost $720.00.

—my kind of town.”
Think about why you are
proud of your town, what
you really like about it,
why you call it ‘“home.”’
Then sit down and write
200 words or less, and mail
it to Mount Joy Contest,
Box 100, c/o Susquehanna
Times, RD1 Box #75-A,

firmly attached to a collar
and worn at all times
except during field training
or in a dog show.
Licenses may be pur-
chased at the treasurer’s
office: in the Lancaster
County Court House or at
Sipling’s Pet Shop, 48
West Main St., Mount Joy.
If your dog strays, call
the local police. That way,
if the dog is picked up, he
will be returned to you.
