‘“Poopsie’’ Floyd recently
was featured in the Lottery
Line, the official publica-
tion of the Pennsylvania
lottery. He got a whole
page to himself.
The story, with generous
sized photo, began by
stating that Poopsie ‘‘could
sell air conditioners to
Eskimos,”” and mentioned
the recent Times article on
him and ‘‘his escapades in
the key and lock business.”
The Lottery Line story
fairly raved about Poopsie’s
salesmanship in the Lottery
business, and detailed
some of his practices. One
example: Poopsie offers
free Instant Bingo tickets to
those who can spell
POOPSIE with their stubs.
Ecology day
On October 14th the
Mountville elementary
school teachers and kids
will travel to Lancaster
Central Park for ‘‘Ecology
Day.’”’ The field trip will
aim to acqua’ it the kids
with some aspects of
nature.
Schock Senior
Center holds
2nd anniversary
The Schock Senior Cen-
ter will celebrate its 2nd
anniversary on Wed., Oct.
19th from 2:00 to 4:00.
In addition to crafts and
refreshments, the festivity
will include a solo ensem-
ble by Capt. Luther Henry
of the Lancaster Police. He
plays guitar, harmonica,
and drum simultaneously.

Jackson
appointed
Charles P. Jackson of
Bainbridge was recently
appointed to the position of
applications programmer
and analyst at the compu-
ter center at Capitol
Campus.
Mr. Jackson, who holds
a master’s degree in math-
ematics, was formerly a
math instructor at Stevens
Tech in Lancaster.
Kids got to wear the firemen’s hats when the Maytown Fire Co. visited the
elementary schools last week. It was National Fire Prevention week, and the
firemen gave the students some safety tips.

Candlelight tour
at Slaymaker mansion
The historic Slaymaker
mansion on Rte. 30, near
Gap, was opened in the
summer of 1976. The
season ended with a series
of candlelight tours. In the
nine months it was open, it
was visited by over 18,000
people.
To highlight the living
history concept in 1977, the
hostesses will play the
roles of Slaymaker women
who have occupied the
home from the mid 1700’s
to the present. Visitors will
also be introduced to
General Lafayette, who will
