Donegal SUpPErvisor Harold Drager, Marietta R.D. 1, was appointed to the East Donegal Board of Supervisors at last week's meeting. His appointment fills the vacancy left by the death of James Johnstin. The supervisors also appointed Jay Hoover to the Park Commission. He will replace Charles Johns, who has decided not to seek another term as secretary of the commis- sion. John Leas was reap- pointed to a full term as vice-president of the Parks Commission. Work has begun on the new pavilion in the township park. The struc- ture should be completed in 30 days. New shopping mall on Rte. 230 near Mount Joy A new shopping mall will be built along Rte. 230 at Cloverleaf Road this fall. To be called Donegal Mall, the complex will consist of a Rea and Derick drug store, an Acme Market, a Hardee's hamburger fast-food res- taurant, a bank, a shoe store and another restaur- ant. The Acme now on Rte. 230 south of Eliza- bethtown will be moved to the new mall. The mall, which will cost $3 million to build, is to be constructed by Penn Mark Properties, which developed . East Towne Mall. The secret of his gar- dening success has no- thing to do with ordinary horticultural science. ‘‘l1 read the Bible to my plants,” Dr. Stauffer says. There was a time when John Stauffer was allergic to tomatoes. ‘If 1 ate tomatoes or tomatoe juice I broke out in hives,”” he recalls.
