If you're planning to buy an electrically heated home...
[SUSQUEHANNA TIMES - Page 9
.. . Take windows and doors for instance. PP&L approved Energy
Efficient Homes must have either double-pane insulated windows or
storm windows as a minimum requirement. All exterior doors must be the
“insulated” type or have storm doors installed.
Equally important, is what goes around window and door frames.
Cracks must be tightly sealed against leaks. It's done by packing in
strips of insulation or “foaming in” a urethane material that fills even
the smallest crevices.
This is but one example of the quality design features you'll find in
every Energy Efficient Home. There are dozens more . . . covering every-
thing from wall and ceiling insulation down to the heating system and
fireplace.
That's why, if you're thinking of a new electrically heated home, it'll
pay you to look for one that qualifies for the Energy Efficient Home Award.
It's your assurance that you'll bé getting the most practical energy-saving
features that money can buy.
If your builder
is not familiar with the
requirements of an Energy
Efficient Home, call PP&L.
