Obituary;
John Willis Reapsome
John Reapsome, 16, of
E. Petersburg drowned last
week at a boys’ camp in
Ontario, Canada, where he
was a junior counselor. He
apparently drowned while
canoeing alone across a
lake at the camp.
He was the son of Rev.
Reapsome, pastor of the
Congregational Bible
Church in Marietta. He
was a member of the
church and was active in
the youth group of his
father’s church. He had
attended the camp at which
he died for several years
and was a student at
Hempfield High School. He
would have been entering
the senior class this fall.
John is survived by his
‘parents, Rev. James W.
and Martha Gray
Reapsome; a sister, Sara
A.; and two grandmothers,
Mrs. Mary Reapsome,
Landisville and Mrs.
Evelyn Duffy, Havertown.
Hints for the elderly
Senior citizens will re-
ceive special consideration
in the Emergency Fuel
Program that is being
started by the federal
government. The program
will prevent people’s fuel
from being shut off if they
can’t pay their bills (PP&L
has its own program to
prevent fuel cut-offs ) and
to help anyone sufiering
‘‘dire need’’ because of
high fuel costs.
To be eligible for the
federal money, you must
More hints
Need financial help, a
new apartment, or some-
thing to do in your spare
time? The new ‘‘Resources
for the Elderly’’ booklet
published by the Office of
Aging may give you hints
on getting assistance. It
gives a brief description of
each program available as
well as the phone number.
The last sections of the
present evidence that your
fuel bills were high be-
tween Oct. 1, 1976 and
June 30, 1977. You must
also have a low income
(below $3,648 for 2 people,
or below $3000 for one
person), but ownership of a
home or other assets
doesn’t disqualify you.
Refunds of $50 to $250
will be made to those who
qualify. For information,
call the Lancaster County
Board of Assistance, (299-
7476 or 299-7534).

numbers for complaints
and emergencies: for ex-
ample, consumer problems
and ambulance.
