The meeting be- gan at 12 noon and after the invocation by Arthur Braun, a covered dish dinner was enjoyed which consisted of a large variety of hot and cold dishes and a large variety of desserts. Following the dinner President Shaeffer intro- duced the program for the day. The program, pre- sented by Mrs. Jay Barn- hart, was very entertaining. Mrs. Barnhart’s hobby is Dough Art. After explain- ing the process, she pro- ceeded to hand craft a dish, which was then plac- ed in an oven to bake. While the group was wait- ing for the dish to bake, the president called the business meeting to order with the pledge of alle- giance to the flag. Anna Zerphey read the secretary’s report, and the treasurer’s report was pre- sented by Almeda Hostett- er. Ruth Brandt reported 13 cards sent to the shut-ins. Mrs. Ella Germer will be in charge of sending the cards for the next three months. Esther Baker was presented as a new mem- ber. President Shaeffer re- - ported on the bus trip to the Great Adventure Safari stating that it was thor- oughly enjoyed. Another trip to the Safari will be planned for September. He also announced that a trip to Atlantic City for a day is being planned for the latter part of August, and a bus trip to the Horse Shoe Curve is being planned for October. The next meeting will be held August 8 and will be a box lunch beginning at 12 noon. Coffee will be the only item served to the members. Mr. & Mrs. Charles Eby will be the greeters for the meeting. Following the box lunch and the business meeting, bingo will be played. EF ed ~~ yt hd EC) eh pe ee ps ©
