Summer music; bike rodeo; nok hockey
153 students are pre-
sently enrolled in the sum-
mer instrumental program
begin held in Donegal Dis-
trict. Some fourth grade
pupils have begun their in-
structions on recently ac-
quired instruments.
Ellen Endslow was the
winner of the sixth grade
instrumental music trophy
at Maytown with 927 points?
Billy Cox-Seiler recipient
with 1,009 points; Patti
Kline captured the trophy
Marietta
playground
One hundred thirty-three
children are currently re-
gistered at the Marietta
playground. During the
past two weeks gimp and
thread designs were taught
in the arts and crafts area.
Winners of some special
activities are:
Nok Hockey
—Dick Oberholtzer (senior
1st); Steve Meszaros 2nd;
Mike Bashore 3rd; and
Dennis Herr 4th.
Intermediates: Tim Santi-
ago 1st; Tina Mertin 2nd;
Rosemary Kennedy 3rd and
Rick Funk tie. Regina
Kennedy was 1st for be-
ginners and Sean Martin
was 2nd.
Winners for the pet show
were:
Funniest: Mary Brown;
smallest, Mary Beth Lavin;
cutest: Cathy Penwell, 1st;
Dave Leto, 2nd and Teresa
Lavin 3rd.
Prettiest: Davy Spath
1st, John Hinkle and Eliza-
beth St. Pierre tie for 2nd.
Best groomed Missy Hink-
le; best behaved, Joe
Brady; best trained, Steve
Meszaros; most unusual:
Grace Henderson 1st and
Deb Rettew 2nd. Largest,
Steve Shireman and best of
show, Mary Brown.
Hobby show winners
were: Neatest; Joe Brady,

Martin and Lee Nell, 2nd
and Tom Hoffmaster 3rd.

in, 1st; Dennis Herr, 2nd
and Donald Stoppard 3rd.

Rapp 3rd. Best handmade-

Hoffmaster tied for 2nd.
Scheduled for the next
two weeks, from 10 to 11
a.m., are swimming les-
sons. A trouble tournament
and a hat show will also be
held. Arts and crafts will
include sewing cards and
popcicle sticks.

points at Riverview.
Summer music lessons
are being taught on Mon-
days at Maytown; Tuesdays
at Riverview; Wednesday
at Grandview; and Thurs-
days at W.1. Beahm from 9
to 4 p.m. Advanced stu-
dents are working on Dis-
trict solo’s and band selec-
tions.
A bike rodeo was held
Thursday afternoon at the
Maytown playground. Rib-
bons were awarded to
Duane Martin, Cindy Eber-
sole, Janene Lesnefsky,
and Joanna Ebersole for
best decorated bikes.
Officer George Shirk in-
structed those participating
in bicycle safety and then
led students in a parade
through Maytown. Winners
of the rodeo were Lisa
Weaver-1st; Denise Cizau-

on Thursday afternoon.
