Roberta Jones to speak
Roberta K. Jones, a mis-
sionary to Korea, will be
the guest speaker at the
Glossbrenner United Meth-
odist Church, Mount Joy,
on Sunday, July 24 at the
9:30 a.m. worship. She will
also speak and show slides
of her work during the
10:30 Church School hour.
Miss Jones, a United
Methodist missionary, is
serving in Seoul, Korea, at
the Christian Education
Research Center of the
Methodist Seminary where
she designs and edits
church school curriculum
and teaches in the semin-
ary.
Glossbrenner Church has
been giving partial finan-
cial support to Miss Jones
for the past 1%2 years. We
look forward to meeting her
for the first time and invite
the community to also hear
of her work.
Mount Joy Community Chorus
will perform in Mount Gretna
The Mount Joy Commun-
ity Chorus will present a
program Sunday at 7:30
p.m. in the Mount Gretna
Campmeeting Tabernacle.
Formed in 1971, with 35
members, the chorus is
directed by Dorothy E.
Schock. Mrs. Carole Bu-
bacz is the pianist. The
- chorus has sung at various
church and community
functions in the Lebanon
and Lancaster county
areas.
The repertoire for the
chorus included the ‘‘Gloria
In Excelsis’’ from the
Mozart ‘‘Twelfth Mass’’;
the Gounod ‘‘Sanctus’’
from the *‘St. Cecilia
Mass’’ as well as composi-
tions by Matthews, Stainer,
Meidlinger, Dickson, Clar-
um and Young.
A Norwegian folk song,
“In Heaven Above.” will
also be offered by the
chorus as well as a number
of contemporary religious
selections.
John F. Way, Jr., bari-
tone, will sing ‘‘I Believe”
as a solo. Mrs. Bubacz, the
pianist, has chosen for her
solo number, ‘‘Engulfed
Cathedral’’ by Debussy.
