Karen Albright, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin
Albright, R.D. #1, Mari-
etta, has been awarded the
Rensselaer Medal from
Rensselaer Polytechnic In-
stitute. The Medal is an
honor given the 11th grade
student for outstanding
achievement in the study of
mathematics and science
during the junior year at
Donegal High School.
One junior from each of
approximately 1,300 high
schools is selected annually
to receive this award. Each
school, chosen on the basis
of its superior academic
standards, determines the
selection procedure with
the suggestion that the
medal be awarded to the
junior with the highest
combined average in
mathematics and science.
Each recipient is then
eligible to compete for
Rensselaer Medal Scholar-
ships.
Established by RPI in
1916, the Rensselaer Medal
has been awarded to more
than 57,000 students in the
interest of motivating them
toward higher education
and courses in scientifically
oriented fields.
