Winners of the coloring contest for the week were: (Ages 5-6) 1st-Jim Russel; 2nd-Jenny Shirk; and 3rd- Lance Mansell. Honorable mention went to Donald Ruth and Sherri Libhart. Ages 7 and 8 winners in the coloring contest were: I1st-Hob Wilson; 2nd-Noel Doutrich; and 3rd-Holly Shaffner. Lee Wise, Steve Herr, Eric Williams and Joanne Ebersole received honorable mention. Ages 9 and 10 winners were 1st-Janelle Lesnefsky, 2nd-Terry Herr, and 3rd- Lynn Lesnefsky. Tim Trost- le and Teresa O’Donnel received honorable men- tion. A ping pong tournament, pet show, and swim lessons are among features at the Maytown playground this week. Approximately 112 chil- dren registered and 140 participated in a variety of activities at Marietta sup- ervised playground last week. , Winners of the Chinese Checker tournament were: Ist-Terri Meszaros; 2nd- Steve Shireman, and 3rd- Scott Neal. Old Maid win- ners were Deb Rettew, Donna Mauss, Stacy Nein, Tina Martin and Angie Roberts. On Wednesday of this week a cook out was held. Steve Henderson and Mrs. Mary Mihalik cooked. The older boys lost a very tough softball game to a fine Columbia Team on Thursday. A rematch is scheduled for next week. Other children were busy making ‘‘Kleenex Flowers’’ as their arts and crafts projects for the week. Parents are reminded that the free swim is held Tuesday afternoons. In order to go participants must have as least three sessions of attendance and hand in a permission slip and 30c by Tuesday a.m. The Florin Playground started off it’s summer activities this year with a Stuffed Animal Show on June 29th. Entries ranged from a Giant Grape Ape to little baby bunnies. The stuffed Animals were judg- ed in five different cata- gories.
