Most of the money was raised at the marathon. On Thursday, June 9th, the W. I. Beahm Jr. High Student Council donated $2,450.00 to 9 local organ- izations and one local project. The presentations were made by the 1975-76 Student Council President, Mitch Johnson, and the 1976-77 President, Scott Penwell. The Student Council sponsored two volleyball marathons and a £ Valen- tine Dance for the purpose of giving the prceeds to worthy organizations within our communities. These events required a tremen- dous amount of work and effort on the part of the entire W. I. Beahm Student Body, and certainly dis- plays an unselfish attitude on the part of today’s students. It certainly is refreshing in today’s world to find young people so willing to give of their time and energy to help others within their communities. Too often we hear of the problems caused by stu- dents, but seldom do we read about their successes and accomplishments. The W. 1. Beahm Student Council and entire Student Body should be congratu- lated for their community awareness. Mr. Greider and Mr. Price are the Student Council Advisors. Thurs.—Sat.
