Page 20 - SUSQUEHANNA TIMES Donna Germer Cur Yr y runs the 440 in 48.0; Stan Curry came in second at the Golden West Invitational, held last Sat- urday in Sacramento, CA. As he did the week before in Atlanta, he ran the 440 in 48.0 seconds, but this time he came in 2nd instead of 3rd. He compet- ed against eight top high school runners in Sacra- mento. Stan's travel expenses for the California trip were paid by the Donegal Boost- er Club. Contributions are needed, however, as itinerary is not still Stan’s complete. He will soon go to Knoxville, Tennessee, for another meet. This one will probably qualify him to run against the Russians later in the year. Donegal coach Rudy Milovanovic believes that Stan could do better in future events. His times in the two recent national meets have been under his best times to date. Stan graduated from DHS last Monday. When he went up to get his diploma, the crowd gave him a big hand.
