He got wet. John E. Zeller retires from AC&S ’] AC and S Corporation has announced that John E. Zeller, Manager, Con- struction and Labor Rela- tions, will retire on July 1, after more than 40 years with the firm. A Lancaster native, Zel- ter is well-known nationally in the insulation industry. He was a former chairman of both the National Insul- ation Contractors Associa- tion's (NICA) Contractor Review Committee and the NICA Labor Committee. In 1974, Zeller was honored with the NICA Contractor of the Year Award. Zeller began his career as an estimator and then moved into various man- agement positions, includ- ing contract officer, and general construction super- intendent. In 1958, he became AC and S’ Manag- er, Construction and Labor Relations. Among his responsibili- ties at AC and S have been the development and im- plementation of estimating policies and procedures, execution of contracts with- in their estimated cost, and labor relations, including reviewing labor agreements and handling labor prob- lems with the national offices of the various con- struction craft unions. Zeller has also been involved with the develop- ment of thc new computer estimating system, recently unveiled by AC and S. Zeller has written articles which have appeared in national insulation maga- zines, and is a lecturer on insulation, contractor and labor subjects. A graduate of William- son Trade School, Media, Pa., Zeller resides with his wife, Hazel, on Pinkerton Road in Mount Joy. AC and S is a Lancaster, PA-based specialty con- tracting firm, specializing in thermal insulation for industrial and ‘commercial applications. The company has offices throughout the United States and Canada. by Carlotta Zuch The Maytown Parents/ Teachers in Partnership held their Spring Festival on Saturday, June 4 on the Maytown School Grounds. There was something for everyone, including games suck as Penny Pitch, Gob- let Toss, Plate Breaking (with teachers names writ- ten on to give added incentive), Fish Pond, Make-up Booth, Balloons, Cane Toss, and Duck Pond. There also were stands with items for sale includ- ing the Children’s Delight Bake Sale, Lollipop Tree, plants, jewelry, books, games, toys and a huge yard sale. Refreshments also were available. The main attraction seemed to be the Dunking Booth. Some of the brave (brrrrrr) teachers who vol- unteered were Mrs. Bate- man, Mrs. Wise, Mr. Forry and Mr. John. Mrs. Mylin and Mr. Lawrence braved the cold morning air to get dunked first! The weather cooperated “to give us a beautiful day. Roy Matheny of May- town was the winner of the afghan which was chanced off. Winners of the Cake Walks were: Ist Walk - Ron Hughes and 2nd - Kevin Fantom. Due to an oversight, Mrs. Siegler’'s second grade class was missed in the Poster Contest. The winner was Scott Brallier who received $2.00 worth of fair tickets.
