He retir- ed from the former Olm- stead Air Force Base, Middletown in 1966. He was a member of the, United Methodist Church of Marietta. A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the European, African, and Middle Eastern theaters of operations. Besides his widow, at home, he is survived by the following children: Charles J., Gettysburg; Nancy Jane Annville; Jo Ann Marie, wife of William Boyer, at home; James, Lancaster. He is also survived by the following stepchildren: Jac- queline Price, Wrightsville, and Robert, Wrightsville. Seven grandchildren and three step-great-grand- children and 22 step-grand- children additionally sur- vive. MRS. ELIZABETH O. GERLACH Mrs. Elizabeth O. Ger- lach, 73, Lehman Nursing Home, Rheems, died Sat- urday at 7:50 a.m., after a lengthy illness. She was born in Dauphin County, a daughter of the late Penrose and Fannie Oberholtzer Foreman. Her husband was the late Harry Gerlach. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. She is survived by cou- sins. ANTHONY C. LIBHART Anthony C. Libhart, 68, Lake City, Fla., formerly of Marietta, died Friday afternoon after a long illness. He was a retired labora- tory technician for the. Uni- versity of Georgia, Athens, GA. He was the husband of Natalie Libhart. Born in Marietta, he was the son of the late Anthony C. and Elizabeth Zink Libhart. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. In addition to his widow, he is survived by a daugh- ter, Natalie, wife of John Corr, Annendale, VA; a brother, Lewis R., Mari- etta, and three sisters: Mrs. Mary Rettew, Mari- etta, Mrs. Pauline Mayer, Oklahoma City, and Sara Libhart, Maytown. MRS. BERTHA HEISEY Mrs. Bertha Heisey, 78, of Pleasant View Rest Home, Manheim RS, died Tuesday afternoon after a long illness. She was a former Mount Joy Township resident and the widow of John S. Heisey, who died in Octo- ber 1974. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. Born in Middletown, she was a daughter of the late May 11, 1977 David and Alice Brandt Ebersole. Four children survive: Earl D., Mount Joy R2; John C., Elizabethtown; Lloyd B., Mount Joy, and Martha J., wife of John Chard, Elizabethtown. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. In addition, two sisters survive: Mrs. Mable Geib, Mount Joy R2 and Mrs. Martha Shank, Elizabeth- town. JAY B. GREINER Jay B. Greiner, SS, of Mount Joy RI1, a truck driver, died Monday at 5:55 p.m., in the Divine Providence Hospital, Wil- liamsport, following an ill- ness of several months. He was a member of the Florin Church of the Breth- ren. He was employed as a truck driver for Interstate Freight System, Milton, for the past 14 years. He was a truck driver most of his life. He was born in Mount Joy Township and was the son of the late Norman and Fannie Brandt Greiner. Surviving are his widow, Mae E. Weaver Greiner and these children: Stanley W., Miltona, Minn.; Glenn J., Beverly, NJ; Clair E., Manheim R2; Carl L., member of the U.S. Air Force in Japan; Jane B., at home; six grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph B., Lititz, and Hiram B., Mount Joy Rl; and a sister, Ruth Etta, wife of Claude Nye, Lancaster. Kids’ fish derby May 22 Elizabethtown and Mount Joy forest fire crew will hold it’s annual kids fish derby, May 22, 1977 at the Mount Joy cove, near: the Mount Joy waterworks, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The derby is open to all those of 15 years of age & under. There will be two age groups consisting of 9—15 years of age, and 8 years and under. Prizes will be awarded to both age groups for: 1. The firs fish reported caught in either group; 2. The first eight fish reported caught in either group; 3. The smallest fish caught in either group (will be measured at the end of the derby.) The - largest fish caught will be the grand prize, for one age group 15 years of age and under, It will be measured at the end of the derby. The derby is under the direction of Raymond E. Maytown PTP to meet Thursday The Maytown Parents and Teachers in Partner- ship will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m., in the Maytown School Cafeteria. Election of officers for the 1977-78 school year will be held. Babysitting service will again be provided by volunteer mothers. Have your child bring a favorite toy. The All-Elementary Band under the direction of Mr. Shields, will be presenting a musical program at the beginning of the meeting. The group will discuss final arrangements for the Spring Festival. Three local educational secretaries attend state conference The PA Association of Educational Secretaries held its Annual Conference April 28-30, 1977, at The PA State University. Theme of the conference was “A Program For Suc- cess.”’ Mrs. Lillian Fry, Mrs. Margaret Nissley, and Mrs. Virginia. McKenna, -Secret- aries in the Donegal School District, attended the con- ference. Focus of the conference was on professional growth and development of educa- tional office personnel. Workshops and seminars emphasized current educa- tional trends and improve- ments of skills and techni- ques. Keynoting the conference was Nicholas L. Goble, director of public relations of the PA School Boards Association and current president of the National School Public Relations Association.
