New wing dedicated at Crossroads Church

Nancy Heisey, left, and Leslie Engle, right, pose before
their creation, unveilled last Saturday at the dedication
of the new wiag of the Cross Roads Brethren in Christ
Church in Mount Joy. Designed by Nancy, the sculpture
was made by Leslie -about 40 hours work. It consists of
a cross, an outlined dove (symbolizing peace), and a
basin and towel (for service). The materials are wood,
pipe, copper sheeting, and a section of house siding.

and former pastor at the Cross Roads, B. E. Thuma.
Health care
made available to
senior citizens
The Lancaster County
Office of Aging will intro-
duce a series of Health
Seminars at the Columbia
Senior Center located in
First English Lutheran
Church, GCplumbia, on
Thursday from May 19 to
June 16.
The Seminars are open
to all citizens over 60 years
old, and are designed to
make health care profes-
sionals and health screen-
ing accessible to senior
citizens. The seminars are
aimed towards preventive
medicine and stress a per-
sonal responsibility in
: health care.
Any senior citizen may
register for the seminars by
calling center manager,
Mrs. Romaine Morrow at
. the Columbia Senior cen-
ter, 684-4850 by May 16.
Class size will be limited.
Transportation will be pro-
vided where possible.
The Office of Aging
operates 6 senior centers
throughout the county, in-
cluding one in Mount Joy.
The centers are all open
Monday through Friday
and offer recreation, social-
ization, educational pro-
grams, a noon meal, crafts
and programs by many
. community people. There is
." no charge for these ser-
vices, but donations are
accepted.
