April 27, 1977 Jennie Lee Heistand weds David Thomas Schatz Miss Jennie Lee Heis- tand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin P. Heistand, 145 West Market Street, Marietta, and David Thom- as Schatz, 504 West Main Street, Mount Joy, were united in marriage at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 23. The Rev. Arthur B. Schir- mer, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Chiques Marietta, performed the . ceremony. The bride was attended by Mrs. Connie R. Kircher, Mount Joy, as matron of honor. Michael A. Schatz, brother of the groom, Mount Joy, served as best man. Ushers were: John B. Heistand, brother of the bride, Marietta; and Gary takes on Columbia The Chiques Co-Ed Vol- leyball League will play the Columbia YMCA League in a series of matches which will be held Sunday, May 1, at 1:30 p.m., in the Columbia High School gym. Mount Joy Township Supervisor Mount Joy Township Supervisors announced that they will develope a detail- ed job description outlining the duties and hours of the township secretary-treasur- .er. The supervisors recently appointed Richard Forry, son of supervisor Jacob Forry, to the secretary-trea- ‘surer post. Richard Forry has been praised for help- ing put the township’s zoning ordinances int6 an understandable order. The supervisors said they will pay Richard Forry $4 per hour until the job description is developed at which time a new rate of S meet pay will also be set. In other business, the supervisors voted to in- crease the pay of part-time policeman Melven Detz to $3.15 an hour from $3. The supervisors said they had received a letter from the Northwest Lancaster County Medical Center re- questing that the township ask the state to install a traffic light at the intersec- tion of Route 230 and ‘Cloverleaf Road. The supervisors also told three property owners on Hampton Road that they did not feel that the town- ship was responsible for sewer malfunctions in the area. Disabled veterans plan meeting There will be a meeting on April 28, 1977 at 7 p.m., of Red-Rose Post #80, Disabled American Veter- ans. The meeting will take place at Post #7294 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Millersville.
