Karen Albright
to visit Penn State
Karen Albright, R.D. #1,
Marietta, a junior at Done-
gal High School is one of
67S outstanding high school
students who have been
nominated to visit the
Universary Park Campus of
The PA State University for
a weekend in April under
the Penn State Scholars
program.
Half will visit the campus
April 15-16, the other half
April 22-23.
Initiated in 1975 to re-
cognize and encourage ex-
cellent academic scholar-
ship, the program provides
an opportunity for top
students in the state to
meet with Penn State
faculty members and stu-
dents, explains Dr. Glenn
G. Carter, director of
Secondary School Rela-
tions.

dents, accompanied by
their parents, will meet
with Penn State faculty
members and students con-
cerning career opportun-
ities, academic programs,
and other campus activi-
ties.
The students were nom-
inated for the program by
their high school principals
as the top academic stu-
dents in the junior class of
their respective schools.
During the weekend,
they will have the oppor-
tunity to experience college
life, find out how Penn
State is suited to their
needs and interests, and
compete for one of 30 Penn
State full-tuition, four-year
scholarships.
All students participating
in the program will receive
special recognition, includ-
ing an early offer of admis-
sion to the University.
Maytown
dismissal times
Maytown School wishes
to inform the public of the
following early dismissal
date and times:
April 7-2:00. Kindergar-
ten will meet that day
8:30-10:30 for the morning
session; 12:00-2:00 for the
afternoon session.

The annual P.T.G. candy
sale was conducted March
11-21. A company repre-
sentative explained the
procedures to the children
Grade 2-6 in an assembly;
grade K-1 in the individual
rooms. It is anticipated re-
ceiving the candy soon.
Mrs. Webb's first grade
class presented a short play
in an assembly March 22.

Miss Susan Schlosser
Dr. and Mrs. David E.
Schlosser, 304 E. Main St.,
Mount Joy, announce the
engagement of their daugh-
ter, Miss Susan E. Schloss-
er, to Drew K. Hostetter,
Baltimore, Md.
The bride-elect graduat-
ed from Donegal High
School and is a senior at
Juniata College majoring in
elementary education.
Many parents attended.
Other assemblies (recent
and upcoming) are:
March 3—Mrs. Enos
presented a play, using
grade 4 children. The
Robin Hood Players, a pro-
fessional acting group, pre-
sented a play.
March 8—Mr. Breault
spoke about midget football
to grades 1-6.
March 9—Mr. Shields
presented a concert by the
elementary band in con-
nection with Music in our
schools week.
March 10—Mrs. Enos
presented a film in connec-
tion with Music in our
schools week.
March 30—School Bus
Mr. Hostetter is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald A.
Hostetter, 68 W. Donegal
St., Mount Joy. He gradu-
ated from Donegal High
School and summa cum
laude from Bloomsburg
State College with a B.S.
degree in accounting. He is
employed by price Water-
house and Co. as an
accountant.

F ree films at Capital Campus
The Frederick Wiseman
Film Documentary Series at
Penn State-Capitol Campus
will conclude with the films
‘““Essene’’ and ‘‘Primate.”’
Both will be presented free
to the public in the campus
auditorium.
‘‘Essene’’ will be shown
April 11 at 12:15 and 8
p.m. ‘““Essene’’ is a reli-
gious film looking at life
inside a monastery.
““Essene’’ was the recip-
ient of the 1972 Gabriel
Award presented by the
Catholic Association for
Broadcasters.
““Primate’’ will be shown
April 18 at 12:15 and 8
p.m. “‘Primate’’ has to do
with the routine investiga-
tions of primate life and
behavior which are con-
ducted at Yerks Primate
Research Center in Atlanta.
DID YOU HEAR...
The purple martin scouts
are in the area checking
out available living quart-
ers for their summer visit.
According to the friendly
mailman, Ben Billet, the
scouts will stay for about
two weeks and then return
for their flock.
