Mount Joy Week starts May 21
Mount Joy Community
Council announced recently
plans for an annual Mount
Joy Week.
The celebration for 1977
has been scheduled for the
week of May 21 through
May 29, 1977.
A tentative schedule of
events includes: Prayer
Breakfast, Hobby & Craft
Show, Mount Jovy Ball,
Mr. & Mrs. N Beach
celebrate 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Norman H.
Beach, 346 Cedar Lane,
Mount Joy, celebrated their
S0th wedding anniversary
yesterday. They were mar-
ried in Elkton, Md., March
19, 1927.
Mr. Beach is retired
from Armstrong Cork Co.,
following 42 years of ser-
vice. Mrs. Beach had been
a cook at the Mount Joy
Restaurant and Fran and
Al's Restaurant, Marietta.
She also helped her sister
Miriam at her fresh pro-
duce stand.
The couple was honored
at a drop-in party by their
children and families. They
are the parents of two
sons: William and Richard.
They have nine grandchil-
dren.
New school schedule
in Donegal district
The Donegal School
Board has approved a
revised school calendar
with Monday, April 11,
1977 to be utilized as a
student makeup day as well
as June 8, 9, 10, 13, 14,
1S, 1977. This will make
the final date for students
on Wednesday, June 15.
