Over two thousand pieces of art-work from county Junior and Senior High Schools underwent rigorous judging the past two Satur- days. Of these two thous- and, only five hundred were chosen for the exhib- it. The judges, who are college art professors and professional artists look for highly imaginative compo- sition as well as technical quality. There are very few traditional still-lifes, animal drawings or portraits ac- cepted. Holly Spence, who is a Junior and an Art Major won a Gold Key Award for an embossing of a window with pen and ink trees beyond. Multiple winners include Floyd Runkle, a Sopho- more, who has five pieces on exhibit; Patty Floyd, a senior who has three pieces on exhibit; and Steve Eno, a senior who has two Allison Hawthorne Steve Eno pieces on exhibit. Other exhibitors include: Allison Hawthorne, Jr.; Paul Smith, Sr.; Jim Johnson, Jr.; Vicki Fogie, Soph.; Robin Herr, Jr.; Nancy Stehman, Jr.; Becky Rulil, - Jr.;. and Oil Joenpara, Sr. Mrs. Linda Ross, high school art teacher says that this has been the best year ever for quantity of pieces accepted from Donegal.
