Religious lectures at E-town College Elizabethtown College’s Office of Church Relations will present a five-part series of lectures on ‘‘Ex- ploring Our Faith’’ during February and March. The first of the series is scheduled on Monday, February 21, at which time Armon C. Snowden, a pro- fessor of religion and philsophy, will discuss “The Book of Revelation.”’ That lecture, as well as the other four, will be held at 7:30 p.m., in the Esben- shade Auditorium. Each re- ceived a certificate of appreciation from Virginia Long, coordinator of volun- teers at St. Joseph Hospi- tal. The women, and years of service are: Mrs. Viola Greider, R.D. their #1, Mount Joy, 23 years and Mrs. Edna Schwalm, 16S Walnut Street, Colum bia, 22 years. Sister Joan Dreisbach administrator and Mrs. Doris Coxey, chairperson o Red Cross volunteers, spoke to the group of approximately 130 volun- teers attending the Iunch- eon. The opening and clos- ing prayers were given by Father Dougherty, St. Joseph Hospital chaplain. Course in natural family planning The Natural Family Plan- ning program at St. Joseph Hospital, Lancaster, is now open for client instruction. The program teaches the ovulation method and the temperature method of natural family planning. Directors of the program are Mary and Robert Kam- bic, formerly coordinators for the Family Life program in the diocese of Burling- ton, Vermont. The program consists of one group instruction ses- sion and personal follow- up. At the group session both the husband and wife learn the basics of natural family planning. Each client is scheduled for one return visit four weeks from the initial instruction session. The program of the client is monitored by telephone and mail-in charts. According to the Kam- bics, the advantages of natural family planning in- clude these: It is based on sound scientific knowledge, is morally acceptable, does not require regularity of cycles and does not require pill-taking of any kind. Effie Billett turns 80 Effie Billett of 116 East Front Street, Marietta, celebrated her 80th birth- day on Thursday, February 10th. Mrs. Billett has 11 child- ren, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is the widow of the late George D. Billett. DID YOU HEAR...
