Catholic women meet in Marietta
The Parish Council of
Catholic Women of As-
sumption of Blessed Virgin
Mary Church, Mount Joy
held it's regular monthly
meeting at 7:30 p.m. on
January 17, 1977 at the
Presentation of BVM Rec-
tory in Marietta, Pa. Cele-
bration of Holy Mass by
Father Michael in the
rectory chapel preceded the
meeting.
It was unanimously
agreed upon by the PCCW
to support our parish com-
mittment to the building of
a new church in the near
future. President Joan Toth
requested spiritual support
of this endeavor that all
members of our worshiping
community became aware
and open to this need.
Thursday, January 27,
1976 PCCW members have
invited the quests of the
Bailey Nursing Home in
Elizabethtown who are able
to participate to be their
guests for dinner. This is
part of the women’s
Christmas gift to the guests
at the nursing home.
Following reports of var-
ious committees and dis-
cussion of present and
future projects the meeting
was adjourned, and re-
freshments were served.
Next month’s meeting is
scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
February 21, 1977 at Pre-
sentation of BVM Rectory
349 E. Market St., Mari-
etta, Pa. All women of the
parish are cordially invited
to make an effort to
actively support the wo-
men’s council. Please try to
attend.
Rev. Drescher at Bible Institute
The Rev. John Drescher,
formerly of Mount Joy,
pastor of Scottdale Men-
nonite Church, will be one
of the instructors of the
Keystone Bible Institute at
Mount Joy Mennonite
Church, Donegal Springs
Road, Mount Joy, beginn-
ing Monday and continuing
through Friday.
Classes will be held daily
from 10:30 to 12 noon, 1 to
2:30 p.m. and 7:30 to 9
p.m. and will be open to
the entire Christian com-
munity, pastors, and lay
persons.
The Rev. Drescher has
authored several books in
the field of family life and
devotional meditations. He
will teach courses on the
book of James and Philip-
pians and parent-child rela-
tionships using his book,
‘*Seven Things Children
Need’’ as a text.
Other instructors for the
institute are Don Augs-
burger, Harrisonburg, Va.;
Nancy Miller, Lebanon,
and George Kimber of
Messiah College, Grant-
ham.
Persons may enroll for
one, two or three courses.
Baby sitting will be provid-
ed.
