Committee meets ‘Business Lay Advisory The Business Education Lay Advisory Committee of Donegal High School met recently to discuss person- nel problem of mutual interest to the high school’s business education departments and to local businesses. The Advisory Committee, consisting of teachers from the DHS business educa- tion department, school administrators and repre- sentatives from local in- dustries, in aimed coordin- ating DHS business educa- tion with the special needs and interests of local em- ployers. The agenda included dis- cussions of competency tests, advance placement based on mastery of a skill, and subject areas defined by business requirements. Friendship Co. was in service until 1:12 P.M. with 20 men re- sponding. “ings; Citizens’ Advisory compares E.Q.A.’s On Wednesday, January 19, 1977 the Long Range Planning Citizen's Advisory Council of the Donegal School District met in the Riverview library. The group concerned it- self with comparing the results of the needs as- sessment which was con- ducted in March of 1976 with the Educational Qual- ity Assessment which was administered in 1974. The E.Q.A. was handled by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and was given to grades S, 8 and 11. While the two surveys clearly showed various needs, it appeared that the greatest priority was that of communications with both staff and community. Other concerns listed in priority ordered were: Accountability; Build- Academics; Organi- zational Structure; Mater- ials and Supplies; Cultural Pursuits and Extra- curricular. The advisory council is made up of representatives from various groups from within the..school and the community. The group is charged with the responsibility of making recommendations to the school board con- cerning future district long range planning. Penn State exhibit on blacks in Revolution Penn State-Capitol Cam- pus proudly announces the exhibition of ‘“‘The Black Presence in the Era of the American Revolution, 1770 - 1800." Math Scholarship test Elizabethtown College's Department of Mathema- tics is conducting a compet- itive examination on Satur- day, Feb. 19, to award four mathematics scholarships at the school. According to Robert K. Morse, associate proffessor of mathematics, all high school juniors and seniors may take the test, which will be administered from 2 to 4 p.m. in 362 Esben- shade Hall on the campus. Interested students need only call the mathematics department secretary at 367-1151, Ext. 386, and leave their names, ad- dresses and telephone numbers, he said. The College is offering four scholarships, two at $300 ard two at $200. Following the examina- tion, which is expected to be an annual competition, interested students and their parents are invited to tour the campus, have dinner and attend a bas- ketball game as quests of the math department, Morse said.
