RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION DE-
CREASING THE COM-
PENSATION OF THE TAX
COLLECTORS, FOR THE
COLLECTION OF THE
REAL ESTATE SCHOOL
TAXES, FROM TWO PER-
CENT TO ONE PERCENT.
WHEREAS it is neces-
sary to realize as much
money as possible out of
the already-existing tax
structure at the current tax
rates; and
WHEREAS the Board of
Directors of Donegal School
District wish to continue to
provide the best possible
education at the lowest
possible taxes to the tax-
payers of Donegal School
District; and
WHEREAS all revenues
should be used by the
School District to the fullest
i extent possible; and
WHEREAS 72 Purdons
Statutes $5511.35 vests the
power in the Board of
Directors of School Districts
to determine the compen-
sation of the tax collectors
for the collection of School
District taxes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED by the
Board of Directors of Don-
egal School District, Lan-
caster County, Pennsylvan-
ia, and it is hereby re-
solved by the authority of
the same as follows:
SECTION 1. The com-
pensation to be paid by the
Donegal School District to
the Tax Collectors for the
collection of the real estate
taxes levied by Donegal
School District shall be re-
duced from two percent
(2%) to one percent (1%)
of all such taxes collected.
SECTION 2. All resolu-
tions or parts of resolutions
wd in accord with this re-
solution are hereby repeal-
ed insofar as they conflict
herewith.
SECTION 3. This resolu-
tion shall be effective and
shall govern the compensa-
tion paid to all tax col-
lectors who are elected or
re-elected in the munici-
pal election of 1977. The
compensation of the tax
collectors who are elected
or re-elected in the munici-
pal election of 1977 shall be
one percent (1%) of all real
estate taxes collected by
the newly-elected or re-
elected tax collectors, after
said tax collectors have
been sworn into office.
ADOPTED AND RE-
SOLVED this 20th day of
January, 1977.
