BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the Borough Council of the Borough of Mount Joy, Lancaster County, Pennsyl- vania, and it is hereby ordained and enacted as follows: Section 1. The tax collec- tor shall receive for the collection of Borcugh taxes from and after January 1, 1978 a commission of one (1) per centum of the amount of Borough taxes collected by the tax collec- tor. Section 2. The tax collec- tor shall on or before the tenth (10) day of each month pay over to the Borough all monies collect- ed as taxes during the previous month, except that during the period of April 1 to June 1, inclusive, the tax collector shall pay aver weekly to the Borough © monies collected as tvs for the previous week. Week of prayer for Christian unity The service celebrating the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which is sponsored by the Mount Joy Inter-Church Council, will be held on Sunday, January 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 7 Marietta St., Mount Joy. The theme of the service is “This Hope Does Not Disappoint Us.”’ It is based on the Scripture text from Romans 5:5. The message will be delivered by Father Michael, rector of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catho- lic Church in Mount Joy. Also sharing in the service will be Rev. Geneva Lasley, Rev. Stephen Getty and Lester Hostetter. Special music wil! be provided by the Mount Joy Community Chorus under the direction of Miss Dorothy Schock. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity began in 1908 in Garrison, New York. Within a few years it spread throughout the world, awakening Christ- ians to the reality of the tragic disunity which they had too long taken for granted.
