ORDINANCE NO. 388
AN ORDINANCE OF THE
BOROUGH OF MOUNT
JOY CHANGING THE
COMPENSATION TO BE
PAID TO THE TAX COL-
LECTOR FOR THE COL-
LECTION OF BOROUGH
TAXES FROM AND AF-
TER JANUARY 1, 1978,
AND REQUIRING THE
TAX COLLECTOR TO
MAKE WEEKLY RE-
PORTS TO THE BOR-
OUGH CONCERNING
COLLECTION OF ALL
BOROUGH TAXES.
BE IT ORDAINED
AND ENACTED by the
Borough Council of the
Borough of Mount Joy,
Lancaster County, Pennsyl-
vania, and it is hereby
ordained and enacted as
follows:
Section 1. The tax collec-
tor shall receive for the
collection of Borcugh taxes
from and after January 1,
1978 a commission of one
(1) per centum of the
amount of Borough taxes
collected by the tax collec-
tor.
Section 2. The tax collec-
tor shall on or before the
tenth (10) day of each
month pay over to the
Borough all monies collect-
ed as taxes during the
previous month, except
that during the period of
April 1 to June 1, inclusive,
the tax collector shall pay
aver weekly to the Borough
© monies collected as
tvs for the previous
week. All payments of tax
moe ©; shall be accompan-
iea by a report of the taxes
collected; this report shall
include the names of the
taxables, the amounts col-
lected from each, along
with discounts granted or
penalties applied, if any,
and the total amount of
taxes received, discounts
granted and penalties ap-
plied to date. The Borough
Council, at its option, may
prescribe the form of the
tax collector’s report.
Section 3. All ordinances
and parts of ordinances or
resolutions inconsistent
herewith are hereby re-
pealed.

Week of prayer
for Christian unity
The service celebrating
the Week of Prayer for
Christian Unity, which is
sponsored by the Mount
Joy Inter-Church Council,
will be held on Sunday,
January 23, at 7:30 p.m. at
the First Presbyterian
Church, 7 Marietta St.,
Mount Joy.
The theme of the service
is “This Hope Does Not
Disappoint Us.”’ It is based
on the Scripture text from
Romans 5:5. The message
will be delivered by Father
Michael, rector of the
Assumption of the Blessed
Virgin Mary Roman Catho-
lic Church in Mount Joy.
Also sharing in the service
will be Rev. Geneva Lasley,
Rev. Stephen Getty and
Lester Hostetter. Special
music wil! be provided by
the Mount Joy Community
Chorus under the direction
of Miss Dorothy Schock.
The Week of Prayer for
Christian Unity began in
1908 in Garrison, New
York. Within a few years it
spread throughout the
world, awakening Christ-
ians to the reality of the
tragic disunity which they
had too long taken for
granted.

all labor, equipment, mat-
erials and all other costs
incidental to the furnishing,
delivering and unloading
the sodium chloride at the
Florin Pumping and Treat-
ment Plant and other such
locations as may be desig-
nated by the Mount Joy
SODIUM:
CHLORIDE during the per-,
Borough Authority.
The right is reserved to
reject any or all proposals,
and to readvertise and
award the contract in the
regular manner, or to
waive any informality in
the proposals received and
to accept any proposal
deemed to be most favora-
ble to the interests of the
Mount Joy Borough
Authority.
Bids will be taken under
advisement and the award
of a Contract, if awarded,
will be made within thirty
(30) days after the date of
opening the bids. In the
event of tie bids, the
Authority reserves the right
to award a contract to one
bidder or to split the
contract among the even
bidders.
