Donegal defeats Annville-Cleona 34-8 at DHS Homecoming game

Donegal is now in a
3-way race for the section 3
championship with Elco
and Cocalico. All three

added up to the team’s
best performance of the
season.
Scott Mowrer, who
weighs only 140 |Ibs.,
tallied 122 yards rushing in
15 carries.
Scott picked up a lot of
his yardage on wide
sweeps around the line.
“The kids blocked real
well,”’ Coach Gayne
Deshler remarked.

Martin family entertains Kuhns
On October 10 Mr. and
Mrs. Elwood Martin enter-
tained the Kuhn family at
their cabin at Peaceful
Valley near Big Springs in
Perry County. All had a
very enjoyable time. The
following were present:

Farm Women’s Society meets

Farm Women’s Society
#8 met October 16th at 2
p-m., in Chiques United
Methodist Church, Mount
Joy, R.D. #1. The meeting
was in charge of Grace
Bixler, president. Group
singing was led by Miss
Anna Mae Eby. Mary
Grace Martin accompanied
on the piano. Devotions
were in charge of Lillian
Eby who gave appropriate
thoughts for fall and read
from Psalms 128. Minutes
were read and roll call was
taken by secretary, Mary
Grace Martin. Society #26
was entertained at this
meeting.
Mrs. Buckwalter, presi-
dent, of the guest Society
gave a brief word of greet-
ing.
Margaret Heisey on the
Ways and Means Commit-
tee announced that plans
for a bus trip to Philadel-
phia in November would be
cancelled. Vera Frey gave
the treasurer’s report in
the absence of Elizabeth
Shuman.
Viola Greider on the
Sunshine Committee re-
ported having visited Lizzie
Keener and that Esther
Musser in the General
Hospital has slightly im-
proved.
Mr. Lester Hostetter,
Mount Joy, presented the
main feature of the after-
noon as he gave many
pointers on the care and
growth of chrysanthemums
and roses. He brought
beautiful specimens from
his garden.
Seasonal refreshments
were provided by hostesses
Mary Reist, Kathryn
Heisey, Kathryn Erb, Eliz-
abeth Newcomer, Ethel
Herr, Lillian Eby, and
Anna Wolgemuth.
The next meeting will be
held November 20th at hte

Fay Stoner, a 4-H student
to Germany, will be the
