Church family night Family night planned at St. Mark’s Church by W. Richard Kohler Wednesday nights will be ‘‘Family Nights’ at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Mount Joy, begin- ning with October 27, 1976. A full program with some- thing for every age group in the period from 7 to 8:30 p.-m., each week is the goal of the experiment. Concern for the involvement of the entire family in a church activity is the reason for this new approach. To launch the program there will be a ‘kick-off’ on October 27th with a carry- in supper at 6:30 p.m., followed by a presentation for all family members young and old by the Ken- singer family of Lancaster. The Kensingers use ‘live puppets’ to dramatize stor- ies from the Bible to the delight and profit of all age groups. Future programs of a fos 00 2.0 0 0 E LH RBA » » general nature will be held every four to six weeks. The next one will be an Advent Workshop on Wed- nesday evening, December 1, 1976. In between the general meetings, there will be weekly groups for all ages- a children’s group, a youth group, two choirs, and (at the start) an adult study group. Ht is hoped that by the first of the year, there will be three adult groups. Each week, the last fif- teen minutes (8:15-8:30) of the evening’s program will have everyone together for a time of praise and prayer before dismissal. Miss Sharon Givler, the church’s associate is coor- dinating this new program. Participation from the en- tire community is invited. For more information, call 653-5493. .
