A team beats E-town,

The ‘‘Donegal Braves’
traveled to Elizabethtown
October 4 to play under the
lights at the high school
field. After the ‘‘C’”’ team
lost 15-0 and the ‘‘B’’ team
following suit with an 18-6
defeat.
The *“A’’ team prevented
Donegal Booters out-kick Mules,
then scrub Comets on parents day
The Donegal Soccer
Team again proved that it
was the better team in its
game with the Mules of
Solanco. The Indians dom-
inated the game from the
start scoring three goals in
the first quarter of play.
Kris McCue scored first.
Then, Henry Klugh added
a goal. Kris’s second goal
ended the first quarter.
The Indians monopolized
the play during the second
and third quarters. In the
fourth period of play, Phil

The Mount Joy High
School Class of 1941 held
their 35th Reunion, Satur-
day evening, October 2 at
Mr. Lacy’s Lounge.
Twenty-three members and
their guests attended.
Guests of the Class were
Mr. and Mrs. Earl F.
the E-town sweep by win-
ning 14-8. The home team
scored first and Donegal
came right back with Steve
Neal making the touchdown
and a Butz to Neal pass
made the score 8-8.
In the third quarter Butz
carried the ball across the
goal line on a quarterback
keeper. The point after was
not good and the score was
Mitzkavich’s brilliant save
of a Solanco penalty kick
saved the shut-out for
Donegal. Mark Divet lead
the JV’'s to a victory by
scoring 4 of the five goals
for Donegal. The other was
scored by Nau Moua. The
game was not even close as
the Indians stomped the
Mules by a S to 1 score.
The Indians continued
their winning ways be de-
feating Penn Manor 2 to 0.
The victory was especially
sweet because it was Par-
ents’ Day for the Donegal
High class
Kochenour, former teach-
ers in the Mount Joy
School District.

out E-town had a first
down near the goal line.
The defense held for 4
downs and stopped the
drive on the 6 yard line.
The game ended 14 to 8
with the Braves on top.
This game was a ‘‘team”
effort and we congratulate
every player who played in
the game.
Soccer Team. Early in the
second quarter Henry
Klugh booted home the
Indians’ first goal. In the
same quarter, Ron Meckley
shot from about thirty
yards out to score and give
the Indians its second goal.
The third and fourth quar-
ters were scoreless as
Donegal stifled the Comets.
The J.V. team trampled the
Penn Manor team 5 to 1.
Mark Divet scored twice
and Denny Weller, Jon
Myers, and Marc Henri
Bataille each scored once.
NC for coming the greatest

The board budgeted
$20,000 toward the pur-
chase of 150 complete
uniforms, 30 extra hats and
20 extra overlays.
Edgar Jones, president
of the football booster club,
outlined the cost of instal-
ling night lights on the
athletic fields at Donegal
High School. He ask for the
Band-club’s assistance in
the $12,000 project.
The club went on record
as supporting the Project
D-Lites. Profits from one
Band club project will be
donated to Project D-Lites.
The band club will spon-
sor a paper drive on Satur-
day, November 20, and on
the third Saturdays of
January, March, and May.
Glen Leib, director of the
band, was given authority
to proceed with arrange-
ments for a springs trip to
Norfolk, VA. The proposed
trip would be April 24 or
May 1.
The band will march in
the Marietta Halloween
parade on October 28.
The next band club
meeting will be held Nov-
ember 1, in the High
School.
