Sperla, who served several terms as president of the Marie tta-Donegal Authority is currently a member of the East Donegal Author- ity. Mr. Sperla is married to the former Minnie Kurtz. The couple have one daughter. He is employed as Plant Manager at AMP in Mount Joy. Former president of the Marietta Lion’s Club, Sper- la is also affiliated with the Marietta Lodge of Masons; the Lodge Perfection, Lan- caster; and the Harrisburg Shrine Club. Besides commending Mr. Sperla, the Authority acquired two new members Michael Pricio of Donegal Heights, and John Hoff- man, who replaces Dr. Gratch as treasurer. Dr. Gratch has moved from the area. You have probably heard these words many times on television. Mount Joy needs a Cadette Girl Scout leader. The Cadette age level consists of girls who are in the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. To the Editor: The executive committee of the Marietta Auxiliary to the Columbia Hospital wishes to convey its appreciation to the staff of Scouts to sponsor Leader Weekend | The Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council will sponsor a three-day Leader Week- end for adults and senior girl scouts starting at 2 p.m., on Friday, October 1st. The event will be held at the Council’s Camp Echo Trail in York County. Most of the weekend will be occupied by training opportunity classes in a wide variety of subjects, such as kayaking, advanced outdoor cooking, lummi sticks, puppetry, singing, canoe sailing, creative dramatics, cornhusk crafts, and karate. There will also be There are approximately 15-20 girls who are inter- ested in Cadette Girl Scout- ing. These girls will not have the chance to continue in Girl Scouting because they have no leader.
