FIFTEEN CENTS
Photo shows Deb Hiestand (left) and Sandy Kreider (center) asking Wendy Hawn
(right) to contribute to Project D-Lites at last Saturday’s football game. Funds will
be used to install lights on all the DHS athletic fields.
Raise funds to install DHS lights
Funds are already being
raised for Project D-Lites,
the plan to install lights on
the DHS athletic fields.
The Donegal Adults
Booster Club hopes to raise
$12,000 for lights in the
next few weeks.
Only private funds will
be used to finance the
project. The cost of opera-
ting the lights will be about
$10 per hour.
Night games generally
attract more fans than
afternoon contests. Since
admission to a football
game costs $1.50, the
lights will probably pay
more than the cost of
operating them.
Teachers,
Talks are continuing be-
tween teachers and the
Donegal School Board.
There is almost no pos-
sibility that a teachers’
strike will be called before
the next negotiating ses-
sion which is scheduled for
October 7.
Officers elected by Maytown PTP
The Maytown Parents
and Teachers in Partner-
ship held its monthly meet-
ing on Thursday, Septem-
ber 23 in the school
cafeteria. The following
officers were elected for
the 1976-77 school year:

At a meeting following
the football game at Done-
gal High School Saturday,
September 2S, 1976, the
Donegal Adult Athletic
Booster Organization set
plans for lighting the ath-
letic complex.
Edgar Jones, president
of the football booster club,
outlined plans and called
on the booster members
present for support. Thirty
adults were present, and
positive plans were formu-
lated.
Mrs. Vivian Carroll will
serve as secretary-treasurer
of the organization. Mr.
Ben Gainer will assist Mr.
Edgar Jones in planning
and coordinating the work
force. Mr. Steve Banks is
the vice-president for the
organization.
Plans currenlty call for
fund raising projects that
will include solicitation of
local industry, business,
and other friends of Done-
gal’s athletic program.
Mrs. Carroll indicated
other funding projects
would include hoagie sales,
auctions, and raffles. Par-
ents of the athletes are
asked to contact Mrs.
Carroll, 426-127Q to get
their names on the funding
project task force.

Board continue talks
At that session, the
school board will probably
present a two-year contract
offer to the teachers’
union.
The teachers have al-
ready rejected the board’s
final one-year contract
offer. The teachers also

ton; Secretary— Carlotta

There were 40 parents
and 4 teachers present.

authorized their negotiators
to call a strike ‘‘whenever
necessary.’
A report of ‘‘substantial
progress’’ in negotiations
appeared in Lancaster
newspapers last week. Un-
fortunately, that report was
in error.
The PTP meets every
month and all parents of
children in the Maytown
school are invited to at-
tend. This is your group
and it was formed for the
benefit of your children.
Show your interest and
come out to our meeting!
When the bride and
groom walked out of the
church, the was a big red
fire truck waiting at the
curb.

When they decided to get
married, the boys thought
it would be fun to drive
them to the reception on
the back of a pumper.
The pumper arrived in
front of St. Mark’s Church
while the ceremony was
taking place. Firemen had
just finished decorating the
truck when a fire call came
over the monitor.
A dozen firemen, most of
whom were dressed in
tuxedos, jumped aboard
the pumper, and the truck
rumbled up Main St. with
its lights flashing.
The pumper managed to
return to the church before
the happy couple emerged.
They waded through a
blizzard of rice and con-
fetti, climbed on the back
of the pumper, and rode to
the reception at Florin Fire
Hall.
The marriage took place
Saturday, September 25, at
1:30 p.m., at the . St.
