SUSQUEHANNA TIMES - Page 13 BIBLE SCHOOL The Christian Education Commission of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Mount Joy, is sponsoring a week of Vacation Bible School for children from Nursery-age through Grade Six. The school, which is being coordinated by Miss Sharon Givler, will be con- ducted from Monday through Friday evenings, August 9th through 13th. The sessions will begin at 7 p-m. and end at 8:30 p.m. A competent staff of teach- ers and helpers will in- struct and work with the children in a Bible-centered program which will include stories, activities, and music. The invitation to attend these five evenings of continuing Christian education in growth groups is extended to the children of the entire community. If you have any questions about the school, please call the church at 653-5493. The climax of the week of Bible School will be an all-church picnic on Sun- day, August 15th at Sico Park. Immediately after the Sunday Worship service in the church the picnic parti- cipants will move to the park for lunch and family fun. Obituaries HARVEY HAWTHORNE Harvey W. Hawthorne, 6S, of 231 Delta St., Mount Joy, died at his home Wednesday at 9:45 a.m., after an illness of 10 months. He was the hus- band of Grace Hawthorne. Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Harvey F. and Emma Webb Hawthorne. He re- tired in 1975 from his post as traffic manager for New Standard Corp., Mount Joy. He had worked for the company for 45 years. He was also a member of Mount Joy Church of God, and was active in church offices. He was also a director of Henry Eberle Cemetery, Mount Joy, and was a member of the Mount Joy Friendship Fire Co. No. 1. Surviving besides his widow is a son, Jeffrey L., New Orleans, LA; a daugh- ter, Harriet L., wife of Michael J. Kometa, Lititz, three grandchildren; and a brother, J.
