Please SUSQUEHANNA TIMES - Page 13 BICENTENNIAL- EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION The parishes of Assump- tion B.V.M., Mount Joy; Presentation of B.V.M., Marietta; Holy Trinity and St. Peter’s, Columbia; and St. Peter’s, Elizabethtown, will participate in a ‘‘Bicen- tennial-Eucharistic Celebra- tion’ which will be held Saturday evening, July 31st at 8 p.m., at the Lancaster Catholic High School Stadium. This celebration will be held in conjunction with the 41st Eucharistic Congress which will be held in Philadelphia beginning August Ist to August 8th and the National Bicenten- nial. A special altar will be erected on the field at which Mass will be cele- brated with several area priests - concelebrating. A special procession will pro- ceed the Mass. Participat- ing in the procession will be all the children from the Deanery Parishes who have received their First Com- munion this year. Also marching in the procession will by Holy Name Men, Men of the Knights of Columbus, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Men, all altar boys, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brown- ie Scouts and Cub Scouts. Everyone is invited to attend this celebration and in case of rain the celebra- tion will be held in the High School Gymnasium. E-TOWN CHRISTIAN WOMEN CLUB by Hazel Crankshaw Mrs. Lucy Ross, one- time California’s Mother of the Year, and teacher for marriage seminars, will address the Elizabethtown CWC at their August meeting. Mrs. Ross has been associated with CWC work for many years and serves as area representa- tive for clubs in the Los Angeles area. The meeting will be held August 4, at 12 noon at Hostetter’s in Mount Joy. Bicentennial gift items by Wilton Brass will be dis- played, and Barbara Lapore of York will sing several numbers. SUMMER OUTDOOR VESPER SERVICE The third of the Summer Outdoor Vesper Services sponsored by the Mount Joy Interchurch Council will be held Sunday even- ing, July 25th in the Memorial Park located on Marietta Avenue in Mount Joy. The ‘‘Sojourners,’’ a six- member ensemble from Lancaster Bible College will present a musical concert featuring varied voice com- bination, trombone, piano and guitar to enhance their program. The ‘‘Sojourners’’ have been well received during the past two years, travel- ing over 16,000 miles to present 150 concerts throughout the North East- ern United States to churches, camps, bible conferences, and youth meetings . They are also the featured musician for **Lancaster Bible Pre- sents,”” a monthly tele- vision program produced by the college. Plan to attend this in- spiring concert and invite others to come with you. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be present- ed in the Wilbur I. Beahm Jr. High School, located on Poplar Street, Mount Joy. ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW A Bicentennial Arts and Crafts Show and Sale will be held Friday, August 13, from 12 noon to 9 p.m.. and Saturday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Silver Spring Presbyterian Church. Many artists and crafters will be showing and selling their wares in the church. There will . be many demonstrations of early American crafts and art in the spirit of the bicenten- nial. Silver Spring Church is an historic landmark, founded in 1734, making it the oldest church in Cum- berland County. There will be guides tc show the church, grounds, and the cemetery in which there are graves dating from the Revolutionary War. There will also be a Mini-Museum in which there will be a display of art, crafts and hobbies from the local area. Admission is free.
