Marietta Memorial Day parade Students from Grandview Elementary School carried 48 flags of America in the Mount Joy Memorial Day and birthday parade on Saturday. The flags were pur- chased by Stehman’s IGA market to be donated to the Mount Joy Historical Soci- ety as a contribution to Mount Joy's bicentennial celebration. A brick company will sponsor the float in that parade. oY The Gibson Girls sang as their prize winning float rolled down the street in the Mount Joy parade. — Britain in the year 1774. The flag bears the slogan “Liberty or Death’’ and features an illustration of a rifleman ready for battle. These 48 flags of Ameri- ca will be on display in Stehman’s IGA market dur- ing the month of June. Then they will be turned over to the Mount Joy Historical Society. Florin Fire Company put on a zany show in the Mount Joy Memorial Day parade.
