Friendship launches fund drive
Friendship Fire Co. is
starting a fund drive to
purchase a Hurst Power
Tool and a Defibrillator
Heart Monitor.
The Rescue Tool is a
gas-powered, hydraulically
operated rescue tool used
for freeing individuals trap-
ped in vehicle accidents, all
types of industrial acci-
dents, forcible entry at fires
and accidents and other
rescue situations.
The tool will be made
available to neighboring fire
and ambulance crews at the
time of emergency. There is
presently no Hurst Tool in
our immediate service area.
The Defibrillator, Heart
Monitor aids in treating
heart attacks properly and

been utilized.
After careful evaluation it
was decided to postpone, for
the immediate future, con-
struction of a new firehouse
for the Friendship Co.. The
Fire Company officers and
active members, as well as a
number of citizens, indicat-
ed that perhaps a long-
range plan for construction
of a community or munici-
pal-type building that would
serve the fire company,
provide space for borough
government offices and ser-
vices, as well as community
