exhibitors of hobbies and
crafts at the first Hobby and
Craft Show sponsored by the
Mount Joy Business and
Professional Women’s Club.
The event will be held at
Donegal High School on
May 22, from 1 to 9 p.m.
and on May 23, from 1 to 6
p.m. Tickets may be pur-
chased from any member or
at the door for 75c.
Mrs. Brenner began
making stuffed dolls last
summer during a visit to her
hometown of Berlin. Her
collection includes girl and
boy dolls, peppy long-
stocking, Holly Hobby, and
Raggety Ann and Andy,
colonial dolls.
Mrs. Brenner gives her
dolls as gifts to adults as
well as children, and some-
ames sells them to suppli-
ment her income. She will
receive orders at the show.
Mrs. Brenner (the former
Anita Steul) has lived in the
U.S. for 6 years. She makes
clothes for herself and her
son, as well as toys.

Mayor proclaims poppy month

Mayor James Gingrich of Mount Joy has proclaimed poppy month in the borough.
Photo shows the mayor buying a poppy from Rhonda Jo Dovalla, a junior member of the
Mount Joy American Legion Auxillary.
Poppies will be sold around town and along the Memorial Day parade route. Proceeds
will go to help disabled veterans.
