MJ Authority (cont.)
[continued from page 1]
Voegler said the authority
will have to choose from
three methods of conducting
the television inspection. (1)
the borough would purchase
their own equipment and
use borough employees; (2)
authorize the borough engi-
neers (Gannett, Fleming,
Corddry and Carpenter) to
-do the work or (3) advertise
for bids and hire an outside
firm.
In other business the
authority approved a re-
quest from J. Walter Heisey
for a water and sewer line
extension on Hill Street.
Heisey owns four lots there
and plans to build four
single family dwellings.
Approval was given to
Heisey providing he present
plans of the units and
execute a formal agreement
with the authority.
Joseph Bateman, boro
manager, told the authority
that National Standard Co.
is now operating on a
continual sample basis until
it completes a waste treat-
ment system of its own. The
authority will sample liquid
wastes from the plant twice
a day to see that allowable
standards are met.
The authority granted
permission to the Friend-
ship Fire Company to use
authority property at David
and Henry Streets for a
state-run Fire School on
equipment use and for a
circus planned for Septem-
ber 30. The firemen will be
responsible for all insurance
and control of the practice
session as well as, the traffic
for the circus.
