The husband of the late Lina Nevin Nein, he was born in Marietta, a son of the late Harry and Anna McCauley Nein. He was employed at the New Jersey Shell Casting Corp., Mari- ctta, until his retirement in 1962. He was baptized in the United Church of Christ Faith. Surviving are a daughter, Betty L., wife of John Anderson; a son, Robie C. Nein, both of Marietta; a son, Donald L., Hellam; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Virginia Resse, Marietta; 11 grand- children, two great-grand- children, two stepgrand- children, and nine step- great-grandchildren. AUSTIN H. HUMMER Austin H. Hummer, S8, of Bainbridge R1, died Tues- day at 2:30 p.m., at his home after a year-long illness. Born in Mount Joy Town- ship, he was a son of the late Lloyd S. and Katie Eshel- man Hummer. He worked for 1S years for PennDOT and was employ- ed by them at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Halbleib Hummer; four children, Marlin D., at home; Miss Marilyn E. Hummer of Selinsgrove, Thomas J., at home, and Sara C., at home; and two grandchildren. WALLACE Clair M. Wallace, 82, Alpine Nursing Home, Her- shey, formerly of Mount Joy, died Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Harrisburg Hospital following a one-day illness. Wallace has been a resident of the nursing home in Hershey for the past five years. He retired in 1958 as an engineer of communications and signals for PA Railroad. He had worked for the railroad for 4S years. He was a member of Presbyterian Church of Mount Joy, and Lodge 106. Free and Accepted Masons, Williamsport. He was the husband of the late Beatrice Brown Wallace, who died in 1959. He was a native of Blairsville, Indiana County. Surviving are a son, Joseph W. NELSON CHARLES FUHRMAN Nelson Charles Fuhrman, 60, of 3010 Blossom Lane, Evansville, Ind., formerly of Lancaster County, died Monday at 1 p.m., at his home following a lengthy illness. A former employee of Armstrong Cork Co., Fuhr- man moved to Indiana about 12 years ago. He had been employed as a supervisor by Bernardin Bottle Co., Evansville. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was born in Elizabethtown, a son of the late Percy C. and Minnie Sherk Fuhrman. =. He was the husband of Beryl Snavely Fuhrman. In addition to his widow, he is survived by a son, Ronald, Fort Wayne, Ind., a grandson; and three sisters, Beatrice, wife of Russell Carter, Jacksonville, Fla., Erma Klingseisen, Lancas- ter, and Esther, wife of William Laughman, Mount Joy. KATIE R. PAULES Mrs. Katie R. Paules, 81, of 26 West Main Street, Landisville, died Monday morning at Osteopathic Hospital after an illness of a year and a half. She was the widow of Hiram O. Paules, who died in 1944. Born in York County, she was a daughter of the late Franklin M. and Georgiana Strickler Kann. She resided in Lancaster County for S1 years and in Landisville for the past 36 years. She was retired from the Mount Joy Paper Box Co., and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Lan- disville; Salunga Fire Com- pany Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Joy VFW Post 5752, the Golden Age Club of Landisville, and the League of Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary. Bachman, 52, of Farmdale, Mount Joy R1, died at the University of PA Hospital, Philadelphia, Wednesday at 5:10 p.m. She had been a patient at the hospital for one week. A member of Salome United Methodist Church, Columbia, she was the wife of Harry E. Bachman, Sr. She was born in Wil- liamsport, a daughter of the late William and Margaret Wherrity Quinn.
