Page 4 - SUSQUEHANNA TIMES Darvin Boyd came to Republican Congressional candidate Darvin Boyd met with local farmers at the Elvin K. Brenneman farm on Donegal Springs Road last week. Mr. Boyd hopes to win the GOP nomination for the 16th District. Boyd visited Mount Joy, Maytown, Marietta and Rheems. He spoke at the Mount Joy Diner, Donegal High School, and Mr. Lacy’s. Sophomores score well on national tests = Eleven members of the tenth grade at Donegal High School have received Na- tional Certificates of Educa- tional Development award- ed for performance at the 90th percentile or better as measured by national norms on The National Educational Development Tests admin- istered by the Guidance Mount Joy WW has ‘open’ board meeting The monthly Board meet- ing of the Mount Joy Wel- come Wagon was held at the home of Barbara Banks, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. Some of the girls up for nomination of offices at- tended the meeting. It was hoped that this would give them a better insight on how the board functions and make it easier for them to take over for the new year. The Mount Joy Welcome Wagon Club is .proud to welcome two new sponsors: The Union National Bank, Mount Joy, and Bob’s Flower Shop, Elizabeth- town. They wish to thank all their sponsores for all the support they give the club. The monthly meeting will be held April 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mount Joy Legion. A choice of stuffed flounder or pork chops, baked potatoes, corn and relishes will be served. The cost for the meal will be $3.75. Please note the slight increase. Dr. Nancy Trisch- ler will speak on ‘‘Morality Today’. The last two visits to the Department at Donegal High School according to Donald W. Drenner, Princi- pal. They are: Karen Albright, Lori Gebhart, Carole Giba- son, Brian Golden, Denise Grimm, Delbert Hiestand, Debra Ross, Rebecca Ruhl, Schock Home were made April 9 and April 12. The club gave a big hand to Judy Novinger for a job well done and hopes that this will not be the end of a very worth- while and rewarding pro- ject. The next two months will be busy. On April 28, 7:30 p.m., at Mount Joy Legion there will be a joint Board meeting. those attending are request- ed to have two copies of their report to present at this meeting. On May 1, a family picnic will be held at Long Park, Lancaster. Those who are interested should contact Thelma Rankin or advice her at the dinner meeting. On May 1, at 8 p.m., at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, Mount Joy, an Omelets and Salads social will be held. Bring a friend and enjoy a ‘“delicious’’ evening and learn how to prepare these “‘delectibles’’ for yourself. The money for the social should be turned over to Janice at the April 21 meeting.
