John is in the academic course at Donegal High School. His high school activites include: Student Council-9; Var- sity Club-10-12; Soccer Club 9-10; Basketball Club-11-12; Science Fair Winner-12; Fellenbaum, Greider are boy & girl of month Soccer-9; Basketball-9-12 Co-captain-12; First Team All-League in Basketball-12; and Hispanic Society-12. John is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Joy. John’s future plans are to attend college. KAREN GREIDER Karen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay C. Greider, Mount Joy, R.D. #1. She is April’s Girl of the Month. She is a member of the senior class at Donegal High School. Her high school activities include: Hockey-9-11; Tennis-11; Guitar Club-9; Brigadoon- 10; Modern Dance Club-10; Spanish Club 10-11 (Treas.) 12 (Vice-Pres.) In addition to her school activites, Karen holds a part-time position in the Elizabethtown College cafeteria. She is a member of the Mount Joy Church of God. March 29, 30 and 31, the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America held their annual Pennsylvania State Con- ference at Valley Forge. At this conference approxi- mately seventeen hundred vocational education stu- dents competed in leader- ship and trade skills. Four students who attended this conference from the Lancasr ter County Area Vocational- Technical School in Mount Joy were very successful in winning top honors. Mike Carroll, from Donegal and an Electrical Occupations student at the Mount Joy Vo-Tech, was successful in being elected State Presi- dent for next year, 1976- 1977. Fred Stauffer, a Hemp- field student, was the first place gold medal in his trade area—Machine Shop. Second place trophy win- ners were Dave Wilt from Manheim Central in Mig and Tig Welding and Joe Shoemaker from Donegal High School in Electrical Occupations—Industrial Wiring. Two Donegal students took second and third place in the chemistry divison of the fair. Kirk Wolgemuth, a senior, won second place with a project called “A Cumulative Chemical Pho- tometer.” Kirk is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wol- gemuth, Mount Joy, R.D. 1 Jean Bixler, a Donegal senior won third place in chemistry with her project entitled ‘‘Think Zinc.” She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Roy Bixler, 401 S. Market St., Mount Joy. And so, for the seventh year in a row, Donegal School District carries on its tradition of entering more projects and taking more prizes at the annual Science and Engineering Fair than any other Lancaster Co. school district.
