Miller Farm Women’s Society #8 met at the home of Mary Sarver and Arline Witman, Mount Joy R2, Saturday, March 20th at 2 p.m. Mrs. Grace Bixler, President, presided over the meeting and led two songs. Mrs. Pauline Miller accompanied on the organ. The minutes were read by Mary Grace Martin, Secretary. The twenty-nine members pre- sent answered the Roll Call by completing the phrase, ““Now is the time to’’ which revealed the uppermost duty of each lady as spring begins. MRs. Phyllis Endslow had devotional time and gave timely thoughts of admoni- tion concluding by reading scripture from the Chron- icles. Mrs. Ruth Drager gave the Treasurer's report in the absence of Mrs. Elizabeth Shuman. Miss Debbie Hiestand, a junior at Elizabethtown High School told of her desire to join other teens to work in Brazil. Nine visitors were pre- sent. The main feature of the afternoon was given by Mrs. Bruce Greiner, 251 Park Avenue, Mount Joy. The ancient art of quilling was demonstrated and she taught each lady to make small designs to learn a bit of the art. Many creations of her own design were shown. La Leche lo meet The Elizabethtown Mount Joy Group of La Leche League will hold its regular meeting on Thursday even- ing, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Norlanco Family Health Center. The topic for infor- mal discussion is ‘‘Nutrition and Weaning.” Any woman interested in learning more about the fine art of mothering is welcome to attend. Maytown parents’ meeting The Maytown Parents and Teachers in Partnership will meet this Thursday, April 1, in the school cafeteria. The topic of discussion for the evening will be ‘‘Learn- ing Disabilities’’ A five dollar prize will be awarded to the room with the most parents attending.
