The first in a series of four
Bicentennial special pro-
grams entitled ‘‘From There
Roots’’ will be presented on
Wednesday evening, March
17th, at 7:30 p.m., in the
sanctuary of St. Mark's
United Methodist Church,
Mount Joy. The program
will be about ‘‘Martin
Boehm, Pioneer,’ and the
guest speaker will be the
Rev. Mr. Abram W. San-
grey, pastor of Salem United
Methodist Church, Potts-
town, PA.
On successive weeks the
continuing historical series
will include “‘Philip William
Otterbein,”” a dramatic
monologue by W. Richard
Kohler, ‘Susanna Wesley,
a Portrait of the Mother of
Methodism,’’ a presentation
by Mary Ellen Kohler. and
‘*Saddlebag Circuit,’’ a
dramatic production on the
life and ministry of Jacob
Albright by the Maranatha
Productions.
All Wednesday evening
Lenten Programs are held in
the sanctuary of St. Mark's
Church at 7:30 p.m. There is
a brief devotional time with
special music.
The community is invited.
SACRED CONCERT
The ‘Joyful Noise’ a
group presenting the gospel
through vocal and instru-
me ntal music will be held at
the Zion United Church of
Christ, 3 Waterford Avenue,
Marietta, PA, Sunday even-
ing, March 21, at 7:30 p.m.

share this evening of inspir-
ation together.

CHURCH
A special musical pro-
gram of youth choirs, hand-
bells, and organ music will
be held Sunday, March 21,
at 4 p.m., at Glossbrenner
United Methodist Church,
Mount Joy. A joint venture
between Otterbein United
Methodist Church, Hagers-
town, Maryland, and Gloss-
brenner Church; the pro-
gram will feature the com-
bined youth choirs of the
two congregations.
The Rev. and Mrs. John
Lebo, from Otterbein
Church, and Mrs. Elinor
Nicholas, the Glossbrenner
choir director, will direct the

ers will play ‘‘Rondo in G"'
by Bull and will accompany
two congregational hymns.
A ‘‘mini-recital’’ on the
organ by The Rev. Mr. Lebo
will include ‘‘Benedictus’
by Reger, ‘‘As Pants The
Hart’’ by Parry, ‘‘Trumpet
Voluntary in D Major’ by
Stanley, and ‘‘Toccata in D
Minor’’ by Bach.
The public is cordially
invited to share in this
delightful musical program.
Following the program,
the Glossbrenner Youth
Fellowship will entertain the
Otterbein group at a fellow-
ship supper.
LENTEN BIBLE STUDY
AT GLOSSBRENNER
CHURCH
Tonight, Wednesday,
March 17, at 7:15 p.m., the
Kinescope Bible Study Part
II, “The Crucifixion: The
Meaning’’, will be present-
ed in the Glossbrenner
United Methodist Church,
Angle and Church Streets,
Mount Joy.
Dr. Edward Bauman,
noted Bible scholar and
teacher of Washington,
D.C., directs this filmed
Bible study which was so
successful and appreciated
on national television. Com-
bining the Scriptures, art,
and music with the spoken
word, Dr. Bauman leads the
hearer in a deeper under-
standing of the supreme act
of Christ - death on the
Cross.
Tonight's worship is the
third in the current series of
Wednesday Evening Lenten
services sponsored by the
Glossbrenner United Meth-
odist Church and the Florin
Church of the Brethren. The
theme of this year’s services
is ““‘Were You There?’ and
the general public is warmly
invited to share in these
special Lenten meditations
at 7:1S p.m., each Wednes-
day evening alternating
between the two host
churches.
