The Mount Joy Leisure
Club held its monthly meet-
ing at Hostetters on Mon-
day, March 8, with 126
members and guests pre-
sent. President Joe Shaeffer
presided, opening the meet-
ing with the pledge of
allegiance to the flag. The
secretary’s report by Nedra
Brandt and the treasurer’s
report by Kathryn Zink were
next.
George Groff reported
nothing new concerning the
activities of the Community

the Sunshine Committee
reported 13 cards sent to the
shut-ins.
Birthdays and anniver-
saries were noted in the
usual manner. Guests intro-
duced were Anna Moyer,
Lester and Anna Hitz, Merle
Hoffer, Carrie Ney, Eva
Landis, and Susan Hershey.
Walter Brandt was intro-
duced as a new member.
President Shaeffer an-
nounced that at the April
meeting, names will be-
taken for the bus trip to
Washington, the Arlington
March 17, 1976
talks about bus trips
Cemetary and Mount Ver-
non. The trip is scheduled
for May 12. He stated the
bus will be leaving Mount
Joy at 7:00 a.m. The tourists
will see the capital, the
changing of the guard at
Arlington Cemetary, and
Mount Vernon.
President Shaeffer also
announced that the Golden
Age Fellowship of Chiques
Methodist is planning a bus
trip to the Maple Syrup
Festival at Mpyersdale on
Wednesday, March 31.
There were some seats
available for this trip, and
those interested may contact
Mrs. Warren Bates.
President Shaeffer an-
nounced the April 12 meet-
ing would be a covered dish
dinner and would begin at
12 noon at Hostetters. He
also announced the May 10
meeting would be an auction
and members are urged to
bring any unwrapped art-
icles for auction.
The meeting adjourned
and after the invocation by
Marlin Kaylor, cake and
coffee was served. A pro-
gram of slides of their tour
of covered bridges of
Europe was shown by Grace
and Joe Shaeffer.
