Kenney, Snyder are Horse Show chairmen
Patrick Kenney

Committees for the an-
nual Marietta Lion’s Club
Horse Show have been
appointed. The benefit will
be held Sunday, May 2,
beginning at noon in Mari-
etta War Memorial Park.
Overall chairmen are Paul
Snyder and Patrick Kenney
Jr. Food committee mem-
bers are Martin Byers,
Elmer Appley, LeRoy App-
ley, Edward Charles, Joe
Gilmartin, John S. Hie-
stand, Don Leonard. Rich-
ard McKain, Michael Mihaj-
lov, Calvin Rex, Ben
Thompson, and Robert
Vanderslice. Richard
Umbenhauer will man the
secretary’s stand and will be
assisted by Lewis Sperla.
Richard Smedley and Pat-
rick Kenney are alternates.
Robert Spangler is
assembling the sound
system. Paul Raber, LeRoy
Appley, Robert Vanderslice,
and Elmer Appley are in
charge of grounds.
The ticket committee con-
sists of James Price, chair-
man, John E. Hiestand,
Albert Huck, Charles Kraus
Douglas Milliken, and
Robert Shank. Dennis Shu-
maker is treasurer for the
benefit. The bingo commit-
tee consists of Pat Crank-
Paul Snyder at work at Columbia Hardware
shaw, Robert Cresswell,
John Goodling, Harold Kul-
man, Jay Reich, Banks
Wagner, and Arthur Zuch.
The ring committee
members are James Baker,
Robert Spangler, Harry
Pittenturf Jr., and Terry
Shope. Michael Gratch will
serve as doctor. Ivan Hess
will conduct a bake sale.
Paul Raber, Don Miller, and
Richard Smedley will over-
see the parking of autos.
The Marietta Lion's
members will be guests of
the Columbia civic group on
March 16th, at Elk’s at 6:30
p.m. Reservations must be
forwarded to Richard Um-
berhauer by March 11.
Guest speaker to address CWC
Mini Jane Johnson

Mini Jane Johnson of
Stonecroft Ministries, will
be the guest speaker at the
April 7 meeting of the
Elizabethtown Christian
Women’s Club. The subject
for the April 7 meeting has
not been announced, but on
April 6 she will conduct a
seminar at the Sheraton-
Conestoga Village, Oregon
Pike. Morning and after-
noon lectures and group
participation sessions will
be aimed at helping today’s
woman reach her full
potential in her Christian
life and work.
Last week’s CWC meet-
ing featured Thomas Clegg,
Director of North Central
Pa. Area Health Education
System, as speaker, and
Robert Bothwell, tenor.
Miss Ruth Eby showed her
doll collection and spoke on
the history of dolls.
The April 7 meeting will
feature Bicentennial Cera-
mics, with Helen Carter of
Doc’s Ceramic Studio. Gwen
Wright, formerly with Fred
Waring’s Pennsylvanians
will be the soloist.
The meeting will be held
at Hostetter’s, Mount Joy,
and reservations must be
made by March 27. Check
for $3.25 and self-addressed
and stamped envelope
should be sent to Mrs. Carol
Bowman, R.D. 1, Mount
Joy, PA 17552. Nursery will
be provided at the Mount
Joy Mennonite Church.
The monthly Prayer Cof-
fee will be held March 16 at
9:30 at the home of
Elizabeth Longenecker,
1110 S. Market St., Eliza-
bethtown. Nursery will be
available.
Reservations for the April
6 seminar must be received
by Anna (Mrs. B. Musser)
