Indians lose to Camp Hill cagers
A 68-70 loss to Camp Hill
eliminated the Donegal
basketball team from the
District 3 AA playoffs last
Mon. at Shippensburg.
Excellent shooting led the
Indians to a 42-34 halftime
lead. The Indians cooled off
in the second half, and
Camp Hill caught up.
Bob Barto, Donegal’s key
defensive player, was kept
out of most of the action by
an injured ankle.
In spite of Barto’s injury
and a dismal 30 percent
shooting record in the 2d
half, the Indians stayed
close to victory every second
of the game.

Trailing 68-61 with 3S
seconds remaining in the
game, Donegal staged a
rally that almost saved the
contest. Mark McKercher
scored S points in 15
seconds, cutting Camp
Hill's lead to 68-66.
Camp Hill froze the ball
until John Fellenbaum de-
liberately fouled Lion Corky
Evans with 8 seconds left on
the clock.
Evans sank 2 foul throws.
With 1 second left, Indian
Kris McCue scored a field
goal. Unfortunately, nobody
fouled him, and the Indians
lost by 2 points.
Fellenbaum was the
game's high scorer with 21
points. McKercher added 17
and McCue scored 16.
Last week, the Indians
beat Lancaster Catholic 83-
77 in a game that was close
until the final period.
Junior Kevin Bradley,
starting for the first time
this year, became an over-
night hero when he scored
22 points. Fellenbaum
added 21, McKercher 18.
