Representatives from their respective churches are: Mrs. Paul Hoffines, host church; Miss Naomi Myers, United Methodist; Mrs. R. C. Howell, United English Presbyterian; Mrs. Aristede Red, St. John’s Episcopal; Mrs. Clifford Makle, Bethel AME and Mrs. James Baker, Zion Lutheran. Mini skits will take the place of a speaker. Mrs. Ray Kunkle, Raeann Kunkle, Mrs. Richard Haas and Ben Thompson will perform. Persons taking additional parts in the various skits are Jewel Schirmer, Naomi Rutherford, Margaret Cur- rin, Mrs. Earl Garman, Mrs.’ Lewis Libhart and. Mrs. . Robert Spangler. The children’s service will be held at the same time with Mrs. Mary Nein, Mrs. Edward Miller and Mrs. Harold McKain. Father Gotwalt photo by Corky Flick by Hazel Baker A purse of money was presented to Rev. Father Joseph G. Gotwalt, at a special farewell observance Sunday. The gift, from members of the congrega- tion, marked the retirement of Father Gotwalt from Presentation BVM Church, Father Joseph Gotwalt retires Marietia, which became effective on March 1, 1976. "Father Gotwalt was a member of sacred music and liturgy committees. He was a member of the organiza- tion for the priestchoir for 24 years, and Diocesan director of the St. Vincent de Paul Society from 1963 to 1972. Having been ordained in St. Patrick Cathedral, Har- risburg, by Bishop Philip McDevitt in 1932, Father Gotwalt was first assigned to Our Lady of Mount Carmel as assistant pastor. Later the same year he was transferred to Sacred Heart Parish, Lancaster. He re- turned to Mount Carmel in 1940 where he received his first pastorate, Immaculate Conception, Fairfield, in 1943. He was also adminis- trator of the mission at Blue Ridge Summit. After going to St. Igna- tius, Orrtanna, in 1946 and to St. Vincent, Hanover, from 1947 to 1961, Father Gotwalt transferred to St. James, Steelton. In 1964, Father Gotwalt was assign- ed to St. Patrick Church in Treverton. He came to Marietta in 1967. Rev. Father Michael S.
