Deaths
WALTER REISINGER
Walter W. Reisinger, Sr.,
78, of 127 North Gay Street,
Marietta, died at his home
at 12:15 p.m. Thursday.
Although in ill health, his
death was unexpected.
He was the husband of
Mary E. Bayman Reisinger
and was born in Columbia, a
son of the late Harry C. and
Mary J. Good Reisinger.
He was a retired security
officer from the former
Olmsted Air Force Base and
at Marietta, retiring in 1961
after 20 years of service. He
was a member of the
United Presbyterian Church
Marietta, and a veteran of
World War 1. He served in
‘he U.S. Army in the 109th
Machine Gun Battalion of
the 28th Division. He was
wounded in France and
received the Purple Heart
and several decorations
from the French govern-
ment. He also served in the
Mexican border campaign in
1916-17.
Surviving are his widow,
two sons, Walter W. Jr., at
home, Harry, Columbia; a
daughter, Beulah, wife of
Homer Sutton, Osteen, Fla.;
nine grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren, and
five sisters; Kathryn, wife of
Warren Von Stetten, Lan-
caster; Sue, wife of Rea
Wisman, Marietta; Mary,
wife of Lewis Libhart, Mari-
etta R1; and Annie, wife of
Frank Seaman, and Helen,
wife of Franklin Smith, both
of Marietta.
JOSEPHINE BESHLER
Josephine F. Beshler, 73,
Maytown, died Monday
afternoon at Duke Convales-
cent Residence, where she
had been a guest.
Prior to her retirement in
1970, she had been employ-
ed as an elementary school
teacher for 50 years in the
East Donegal and Eliza-
bethtown area school dis-
irict. She taught for many
years at Bainbridge Elemen-
tary School.
She was a member of St.
John's Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Maytown; the PA
Retired Teachers Associa-
tion, Delta Kappa Gamma
Sorority and Columbia
Hospital Auxiliary.
Born in Maytown, she
was a daughter of the late
Henry C. and Elizabeth
Floyd Beshler.
Surviving are three sis-
ters: Elizabeth, wife of Paul
Albright, and Mrs. Ruth
Newcomer, both of May-
town, and Mrs. Janet B.
Barry, Midwest City, Okla.;
and two brothers, Chris H.
Beshler, Coatesville, and
Paul R. Beshler, Maytown.
AMOS J. KREBS
Amos J. Krebs, 82,
former superintendent and
principal of Marietta schools
from 1939 to 1945, died
Tuesday at 1:30 a.m. at York
Hospital.
Krebs, of 1800 Eastern
Blvd., York, had served as
Codorus Township High
School principal as well as
principal at Glen Rock.
He was assistant superin-
tendent of York county
schools from 1924 to 1938
and taught at Edgar Fahs
Smith Junior High School,
York, from 1945 to 1959.
A graduate of Gettysburg
College in 1916 he received
his master’s degree in the
University of PA in 1924. He
served in the Army from
1918 to 1919.
Surviving are his widow,
Ada May Krebs, two child-
ren; Donald E., York and
Mrs. Richard Walker, Cape
Elizabeth; six grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are three
sisters, Mrs. Millard Er-
brick, Enola, and Mrs.
Beulah Hawk and Mrs.
Louise Miller, both of
Hanover.
RUTH S. SLY
Mrs. Ruth S. Sly, 53, 21
Fuller Avenue, Warren,
died at Warren General
Hospital at 1:45 p.m. Sun-
day, February 22, 1976,
after having been admitted
a short time earlier.
She was born on February
23, 1922, in Lancaster
County, PA. the daughter of
Maude Stickler Gainor and
the late Maris Gainor. She
graduated from Mount Joy
High School, class of 1941.
She was a graduate of the
School of Practical Nursing,
in Lexington, Kentucky. She
was a member of the
Licensed Practical Nurses
Association of Pennsylvania,
and had been employed by
both Warren State and
Warren General Hospitals
at different times. She was a
member of the Church of the
Nazarene, the Berachah
Class of the church, and
served as the secretary for
the W.C.T.U.
She was preceded by her
husband, Merle A. Sly, who
died on Jan. 12, 1976.
Survivors include her
mother; one sister, Mrs.
Richard (Erma) Yeakel,
Lexington, VA, one niece
and one nephew.
Services will be held at
the Peterson-Blick Funeral
Home at 10:30 Thursday.
The Rev. Luther Watson,
pastor of the Church of the
Nazarene, will officiate.
Interment will be in West-
view Cemetery Starbrick.
The family has suggested
that those wishing to re-
member Mrs. Sly make
contributions to the Warren
Church of the Nazarene or to
the Cancer Society.
PIERRE deVITRY
Pierre deVitry, 81, of
Bainbridge, died Friday at
10;45 a.m. in St. Joseph
Hospital after an illness of
several years.
Born in Rouilac, France,
he was the son of the late
Amadee and Lucey deVitry.
He was the husband of Aline
Van Vleck Brison de Vitry.
A retired self-employed
inventor, he was a member
of St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, Marietta, and of
Third Order of Mount
Carmel, Washington, DC.
Besides his widow, he is
survived by two sons,
Renaud deVitry, New Hol-
land, and John J. deVitry,
Marietta; threee daughters,
Dr. Luce Maubrey, Wash-
ington, DC; Christiane, wife
of John C. Donohue,
Mountain Lakes, NJ, and
Guillemine delLacoste,
Cambridge, Mass.; 28
grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
THOMAS KAMINSKI
Thomas Kaminski, 49, of
Bainbridge, R1 died unex-
pectedly at Harrisburg
Hospital on Monday. An
autopsy showed his death to
be a result of natural causes.
An employee of Fruehauf
Company, Middletown, he
was a veteran of World War
II. He was the husband of
Myrtle Plott Kaminski.
Surviving besides his
widow are his mother, Mrs.
Anna Kaminski, Perth Am-
boy, NJ; a son, Ricky, Eliza-
bethtown; a daughter, Mrs.
David Kessler, Middletown;
four grandchildren; two
brothers, Theodore and
Anthony, both of Perth
Amboy, and five sisters,
Mrs. Anna Seybold and
Mrs. Be tty Goodwin, both of
Perth Amboy; Mrs. Ruth
Boyarski, Dover, NJ; and
Mrs. Eleanor Banks and
Mrs. Mary Cherr, both of
Nanticoke.

MARY ALICE REIGLE
Mrs. Mary Alice Reigle,
89, of 153 New Haven
Street, Mount Joy, died
Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at
Duke Convalescent Resi-
dence. A Mount Joy
resident for the past 30
years, she was the wife of
Amos Reigle.
She was born in Eliza-
bethtown, a daughter of the
late Anthony and Mary
Acerman Shaffer.
In addition to her hus-
band, she is survived by a
son, Leo Bitting, Marysville;
a granddaughter, a great-
granddaughter and three
sisters, Evelyn, wife of John
Nitzche, Lancaster; Mrs.
Marion Greene, Hummels-
town, and Stella Shaffer,
Hershey.
