Friends and neighbors of
Maytown and East Donegal
Township are extended a
cordial invitation to get
together Saturday, February
14, at 7:30 p.m., for a night
of old-time sociability and a
look at the ways of our fore-
fathers.
The meeting has been
planned by the Maytown
Bice nte nnial Committee and
will be held in the Maytown
Elementary Scheol auditor-
ium. Emphasis will be on
getting te know our neigh-
bers. Itis hoped that old and
new citizens, the young and
the old, will get together to
enjoy the program and the
hospitality hour which will
fellow.
Twe films have been
secured from Williamsburg.
The one depicts early
American heme and com-
munity life, and is one of the
most widely used of all the
Williamsburg films. It
brings cut similarities and
contracts with present-day
living. The other film
recreates the musical life of
the colonies and snatches of
early American folk music
as well as that performed by
semi-professional and pro-
fessional musicians. Coun-
try fiddling and a tune
played on Ben Franklin's
glass armoenica (yes, armo-
nica) adds te the interest of
the film.
Refreshments “will be
served. There is ne admis-
sien charge.

Farm Women Sociey #7 treated
to sumptuous Vietnamese feast
Farm Women Society #7
enjoyed a Vietnamese meal
at their last months’ meet-
ing.
The Hoang and Nguyen
families prepared and serv-
ed traditional Vietnamese
foed in the colonial farm-
house of Mrs. Galen Ben-
ner.
Mrs. Hoang and Mrs.
Nguyen are sisters. Their
families were sponsored by
the Mount Joy and Erisman-
Mennonite Churches.
All the foed was art by
hand in traditional Viet-
namese fashions. Carrots
were sliced S different ways
for S different dishes.
A total of 8 courses were
served.
La Leche to meet February 12

League will held its regular
meeting on Thursday even-
ing February 12 at 7:30
p.m., in the meeting room of

Ben Franklin at banquet
Benjamin Franklin, a great promoter of commerce, was
guest of honor at the Mount Joy Merchant's Association
banquet last weekend. At Ben’s left is Merchant's
Association president Jim Roberts.
